2013 ADGO Bag Tag - 1st challenge @ Redan Sat 2/09

Tags are here. We've got 100 this year. 1st challenge will be at Redan on Saturday 2/09. I am not selling tags prior to this event.

Sign in will be from 9AM - 9:45AM.
We will get the round started as close to 10AM as possible.
This will be a 1 round bag tag challenge based on best score. Ties will need to play off to determine tag seeding.

2 meter rule is NOT in effect
Surrounded by water in the ditches on holes 1, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, or 18 will be OB.
Inside the tennis court is OB
Inside the football field fence on holes 3 or 4 is OB
Inside the Jim Warner memorial on hole 4 is OB
Over the neighborhood fences on holes 6, 12, 13, 14, or 17 is OB

I will run action for 4 CTP's. They are $1 per hole and are not mandatory.

2013 Rules of Engagement

1. Tags must be attached to bags or carts and carried whenever you are playing

2. You may challenge anyone carrying a tag.

3. The challenge must be accepted by each participating player to be valid

4. You may refuse a challenge if you are out practicing (this is acceptable occasionally), OR you are in a tournament and you have already accepted a challenge from another player not on your card.

5. You may not hide when you have a lower number tag (if it is found that you are doing this you probably will be called an assortment of names) It would be advisable if you have the #1 tag that you at least play a challenge once a month.

6. If you have to leave during a challenge round (for any reason) you will forfeit your tag and graciously accept the highest numbered tag in the group

7. In the case of a tie, the player who held the lowest numbered tag prior to the match would receive the lower numbered tag and so on

8. The current tag set (2013) will remain active until the end of season tournament.

9. If you lose your tag you may be able to PURCHASE a new one (depending upon availability for $5.00). Additional chains are $1 each (the monies for both go to end-of-year tournament payout).

10. Anyone caught cheating or holding out (purposely not bringing your tag) will be dealt with by the local players and I will make sure everyone finds out about it.

11. When playing in a tournament with other bag tag holders then the challenge is automatic. If I am there I will collect tags and tally scores. If I'm not playing someone else can run the action. Tyically these challenges are based on each players overall cumlative score for the tournament.

About 4 or 5 baskets got moved yesterday. Can't remember which one's we moved. But you can tell which one's were moved when you stand on the tee pad and say "hey, it looks like that basket got moved". Pnut is installing new locks on the baskets but some needed to be cut off and the bolt cutters we had weren't big enough. He was hoping to finish that project today if the industrial size bolt cutters show up. More baskets will be moved if he can do that.

The 1st challenge of 2013 is in the books.
We had a new record 43 players compete in the 1st challenge this year. In all, 56 of the 100 tags for 2013 have been sold.
The day was sunny and temps were in thee upper 40's & 50's for the round.

Austin Lytle took home the #1 tag, shooting a 47. Jon Plotky took the #2 tag with a 49, and Matt Versola took #3 with a 51.

CTPs paid $37 each. The winners were:

#9 - Clay Campbell
#11 - Jay Norman

Thanks to everyone who came out. Also, thanks to Mike Houchin, P'nut, Randy Tedder, Ed & Vicki Jacob (and anyone else I missed) for helping with scoring and payout for the CTP's. I'll let everyone know the date of the 2nd Challenge soon.
