As the longer time GSSS people already have probably noticed - this year did NOT have the "Woods Signup" which was the official Lake Russell waitlist the past 4 years.

And there will not be one set up this year as there is only 5 weeks until the Event, and hopefully everyone that signed up wants to play.

For the 17 (yes seventeen so far) people that have called, PM'ed, Emailed, or posted since 7:30 AM - Good luck - you are all on the hopefully "I'll get in list" and if anyone drops out, you will be contacted.
Bugging me about it or asking "where am I?" on the list will drop you further down the list.
I have everyones name, or screen name listed on a spreadsheet next to where the LR people will go once I get those names later this weekend or MON.
I do NOT know who has signed up, but if you were able to signup before 7:09 AM this morning when it sold out, you are in whoever you may be.

To those of you who missed out on the time, or didn't know how to tell when MIDNITE AUG 3rd was, You'll have a chance to set your alarms and calendars now for the 15th annual LRO on SEPT 7-8th, 2013 which will go on sale at MIDNITE AUGUST 2nd, 2013.
The Event next year will be 1 of only 2 I'm running (the other is the 3rd Annual Zip Line Open to be held OCT 19th, 2013)

Only 1 person out of the 17 who contacted me said the correct thing and was paying attention for the last 4 years! Lets see if he gets lucky.

There will be a tape measure and pad to write down the distances by the pin. The CTP is for all 3 rounds. The money will be donated to a worthy cause. Any ideas on who to donate to would be helpful? Last year we raised over $100 for Perkerson Park! Initial cost is $2 but if people want to kick in a disc or other items, I can raise the buy in. Will not exceed $5.

1.3 Withdraws and Refunds

A. A player may officially withdraw only by contacting the Tournament Director.

B. Players must email or phone their withdrawals to the Tournament Director only at the contact information posted.

C. Discussions with persons other than the Tournament Director, including other tournament staff, shall not be considered official.

D. No refunds will be issued after the 7th day prior to the start of the event, but the player shall be sent a player’s package if one was provided to event competitors.

E. Withdrawals made before the 7th day prior to the start of the event shall receive a 50% refund.

F. Withdrawals made 14 days prior to the start of the event shall be refunded 100 %, less postage and handling, which shall not exceed 10% of the entry fee.

G. These criteria may be relaxed at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

So when you get to the tournament Saturday morning and get your tournament program you will find out that
you can give Kieth notification up to 24 hours prior to the event of your dropping out and receive a full refund.
I think that is Kieth's policy, but I'm not 100% on that. That's what I used to do when I ran tournaments.

Paying at least 50% in each division and dollar amount shown is percentage of "GSSS payout pie" tm to player in top half. Those that played all 5 get 100% of payout, those that played 4 get 80% and those that played 3 get 60% of "GSSS payout pie" tm

Pro Divisions will be paid in cash - Am Divisions in Merchandise.
REC had largest #'s of total players (76) but no players getting 100% of "GSSS payout pie" tm
Only 4 of 7 winners of the points battle had all 5 Events played.
The INT guys were the big winners as only 2 of the 4 qualifiers (50%) played in all 5 Events therefore getting all of the 230 merch dollars in their "pie".
Dollar and Childs made their 3rd appearances count as they both moved past Matlack for 1st and 2nd with Matlack not playing Event #5.

All players in red will be given their vouchers or cash when they check-in at Lake Russell SAT morning.
Those players in red are entered for Lake Russell and MUST collect their bonus prizes SATURDAY after the second round scoring is done.

Course foliage and walkways to next tees are trimmed and all baskets are in the locations for SAT (only 13 will move to hillside on SUN) - Mark will be having the crews mow again on WED and THURS along with clearing the hillside on 13 to make everything even more sparkly than it is now.

REC tees are painted - as well as OB Lines on 18 - and arrows for next tees are painted in locations needed for the new to LR players (there are several).

I'll be arriving FRI afternoon to set flags, tee signs, water stations, and the Fortress of Solitude in their proper locations.

Port-a-jon has been ordered, trailer reserved to carry Event and camping supplies, groceries have been purchased for the weekend and payouts are set for the players now listed.

I'm looking forward to the last GSSS Lake Russell Event but NOT the last Lake Russell Event that I'll be running as as long as I'm in this state I plan to run the LR Event EVERY Year there and next years 15th Annual Lake Russell Open on SEPT 7-8th, 2013 is planned to be an epic celebration.

So contrary to people that have been telling Mark that I was done running Events at Lake Russell, I will keep running them there on the weekend after Labor Day for as long as people want to attend them - which is what I told Mark when I handed him the $432 check to cover the $6 per person fees for the Event.

Approximately 36 hours until tee off - I'll have no access after this point so the 72 players listed are the 72 in as far as I'll know until check-in closes at 9AM SAT - and as a reminder - I DO NOT HAVE CELL SERVICE at Lake Russell so after noon tomorrow, I will have no communication until seeing people in person on SAT Morning -so I would advise if you do not drive up FRI night, that you leave at 4AM SAT to be on the safe side to arrive in time for check-in because at 9 AM, i'm sure there will be people hanging around waiting to get in and I don't want to have to have you show up late and not get to play because your spot was given away.

Let me put all rumors to rest now before the next thing I read is I had to have an field amputation by Jay Voss. I sliced the top of my big toe after a knife slipped off the counter and couldn't dance my way out of its path. Prandy and Steve "the Animal" steri-stripped it together so well that the Elbert Co. ER staff said all I need is to keep it clean and dry and watch for infection! I did have to miss making the miraculous comeback I had planned on Sunday!

14th Annual Lake Russell Open and 31st GSSS Finale wrap up.

State rules have changed and you can now book campsites and cabins 13 months in advance, so if you want one of those for the 15th Annual Lake Russell Open on SEPT 7-8th, 2013 - book now!

As usual letting people know on 3 different forums about not having access after Noon on FRIDAY meant nothing as several people called and E-mailed me that the wouldn't be coming from 4:30 PM FRI -12:13 AM SAT

3 people got in SAT Morning to fill the field until replacing Kevin, Courtney and Marcus - but then 3 others didn't show, so we had 69 players having a good time at the
"weekend party that happens to have a Disc Golf Event in the middle of it"

Ratings for INT Women and REC will be done when results are official as there were not enough "Props" for unofficial results.
Ratings for final 9 will NOT count in stats (need 13 holes minimium to be rated rounds) and under par number for those that played final 9 is jacked as it is based on 18 hole course par of 55.

Highlights from the weekend.....
Great weather - minus 4 holes of rain in 1st round.

Congrats to Jim Corder who won in a 3 hole playoff after Corder made his 2 on 18 and Bowman missed a 15-18 footer forcing a tie. (and Plotky who had a 2 stroke lead going into the final 9 missed a 60ft+ to miss having a 3 way playoff)
Congrats to Tim Lawrence for winning the basket at Event #6.
Congrats to Ryan Watson for winning the basket for the Series being drawn from the 30 tickets (5 from each Event)

Ryan Adams and Steve Trello both declined cash to maintain AM status.

It was great seeing the battle in INT women with JR Emily and the other 2 ladies all staying within a few strokes all weekend.
Ended up with 34 of the 69 players being Old Guys with 2/3 of those being old guys playing for plastic!

Mark and his crew did a fabulous job of mowing the course and except for the Hole 1 tree cutting error, (he's letting hole 1 move 25-30 feet to the right to make it a turnover hole again) as always it is great to see how nice the place looks every year during my annual visit.

It will be almost 1 year to the day when I TD my next Event and I couldn't have it be at a better weekend vacation place.

Let me put all rumors to rest now before the next thing I read is I had to have an field amputation by Jay Voss. I sliced the top of my big toe after a knife slipped off the counter and couldn't dance my way out of its path. Prandy and Steve "the Animal" steri-stripped it together so well that the Elbert Co. ER staff said all I need is to keep it clean and dry and watch for infection! I did have to miss making the miraculous comeback I had planned on Sunday!

The Series winners are determined by the first 5 events. Lake Russell is for relaxing...

Sorry - for this 1 post I'll have to revert to pre 2013 attitude Keith ....

If you looked 3 times and you missed the date of the post (Aug 12th) and the date of Lake Russell Event in every post (SEPT 8-9th - which is AFTER Aug 12th) with your own question and your own reply - then you've got too much else going on in your life.

The top name in each of the 7 divisions WON the Series points title EXCEPT for MM1 (ADV Masters) where there was a TIE for first - Gerrit got more money by playing in more Events, thereby getting a larger piece of the GSSS pie tm which is why his name is on top.
