Hole 1 195ft / REC DIVISION 145 ft Par 3
All divisions except REC tee from the pad in the woods near the parking lot.
Tees to a basket ahead and slightly to the right. Crossing creek into 17 fairway is OB
To next tee walk to the left 60 feet.

Hole 2 260 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket ahead and slightly right through the trees. Crossing creek into 17 Fairway is OB
To next tee 310 ft away, cross bridge, walk towards playground crossing asphalt path bridge, turn right towards creek.

Hole 3 295 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket straight ahead. Crossing creek into 4 or 7 fairways is OB - Beyond path on left is OB.
To next tee 100 feet away, cross creek and turn right.

Hole 4 310 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket straight ahead. Crossing creek into 3 Fairway is OB.- Beyond path on left is OB.
To next tee 260 feet away, turn left and walk towards the parking lot with the stables in the distance – Tee is in between trees.

Hole 5 295 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket straight ahead and slightly left in the trees on the hill slope.
Beyond path on right is OB. In road or parking lot and beyond is OB.
To next tee 150 feet away, turn left and back towards #6 tee at edge of parking lot.

Hole 6 300 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket straight ahead. Parking lot and beyond is OB. Leaning on curb is OB. (Grass/concrete on top of curb is OB line)
To next tee 40 feet away, turn slightly right.

Hole 7 225 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket straight ahead. Crossing creek into 3 fairway is OB. In road or parking lot on right and beyond is OB.
To next tee 120 feet away, cross creek and turn right.

Hole 8 285 ft Par 3
Tees to a basket that is straight ahead near creek. Beyond path on left is OB. In road or parking lot and beyond is OB.
To next tee 330 feet away, follow asphalt path straight ahead to #9 tee.

All DIVISIONS EXCEPT REC tee from Concrete pad – ALL REC PLAYERS walk 80 feet ahead of concrete tee to flags on other side of leaning tree.
ALL players tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly left.
Crossing creek into 11 or 12 fairway on the right is OB. Once past marked point on 14, there is NO OB on the right.

You can play for free plus a 45 dollars service fee for the ADV division. :mrgreen:

The sign isn't out there, so I assume someone took it or threw it away.

Not going to be able to make it to this tourney, but I do hope to finally make it to Wills sometime this fall.

The 30 Qualifiers after 4 Events for the GSSS Points Bonus are shown below.

10 more players played their 3rd Event at Meeks and the REC field had the new top 4 players all make their 3rd Event.

Amazingly with 36 unique players in ADV - only 1 has played all 4 Events and there are 5 more who played their 2nd Event at Meeks - looks to be a decent Series bonus payout for Wes if those 5 don't play Wills. :shock:

You MUST play in 3 of the first 5 Events to Qualify for the points bonus.
There are 22 players who have 2 Events in the books and can still get a piece of the GSSS bonus payout pie tm by playing in Event # 5 at Wills.

Event #5 at Wills Park is the last qualifier for the Series points bonus and as of this moment there are 34 spots left.

Seriously though........

Because there are several places with no water or water that is less than the width of disc depending on where the debris is the creek is causing blockage - it's way too random whether 2 crappy shots in the same area will be in or out - so with it being casual water you can get your foot wet, or play on the FIRST LEGAL stance available on the line of play to the basket anywhere up to 5 meters per the PDGA rules.
Of course if that line of play would take you to the other side of the creek into another fairway on the holes that border 2 fairways, it would put you OB and you could then take the penalty stroke, take a meter relief from the OB line on the other fairway and stand in the water to throw your next shot since the water is casual. :shock:

I can always replace the casual water with haybales if you want. :mrgreen:

And so it begins......

Less than an hour and already 3 people "surprised it is now sold out when I just went to signup"
when 10 days ago there was 16 spots left and 2 days ago there was 8 spots left........

Now I just need to wait for Woody's post saying it has only been on sale for 7 weeks - how can anyone plan from 2 days ago when there was 8 spots left to know what they were going to do 12 days from now, and my life will be complete. :mrgreen:

And of course that wiil be followed by the other posters asking why there is only X names on the list (knowing I won't even get the remaining names from pdgasignup for up to 48-72 hours from now).........

All I can say is you BETTER PAY ATTENTION ON AUG 3RD AT MIDNITE IF YOU WANT TO PLAY LAKE RUSSELL. :lol:

To Bootsie, I'm really sorry, but I gave you 3 chances and after the 3rd time when you swore you wouldn't do it again - I told you that you would NEVER play in another of my Events and I had already given you 2 more chances than I give anyone else...since you are a PDGA member and not on suspension, the only legal way to keep my word is to make the Events invitational and exclude your PDGA number or make them non sanctioned.
Since I'm not making them non sanctioned, I'm making them invitational.
Sorry if you have hard feelings, but I'm keeping my word.
I just wish you would use the personality you have at doubles during PDGA Events and maybe you would still be playing them.

Bootsie, your more than welcome to put together a Team and play in the National Team Challenge at IDGC....I'm sure there are quite a few shut out of Wills that you could add to a team.

We are an all inclusive facility, unless of course someone is on suspension from the PDGA. This event is not sanctioned though so thats not an issue anyways!

All 18 Baskets are cleaned, all 20 tees are swept, and the course is in the best shape it has been in for SATURDAY's Event.

Cool front coming through has forecast highs of 83 with a morning low of 68 as of tonights forecast!! :mrgreen:

Remember to be at the pavilion on 18's fairway for check-in and players meeting.

Got confirmation WED evening that Larry's BBQ will be coming down to Wills - and will have extra BBQ to sell by the pound for those who wish to take home some homemade goodness.
Anyone who has played any Event at Haywood Valley (Wes Campbells course) can vouch for their fine food.

First PDGA Wins for Tim Bell, Steve Brooker,Zak Kemmer, and Al Hause

Matt (I HATE Wills) Dollar shoots a 1065 rated 40 to win Open and in the short positions all PROS and All ADV and all ADV Masters except 2 shot under par with Dollar shooting 25 under.

Courtney beat 95% of the field (only 4 players beat her) including a 1000 rated first round 45 (with a 6) and Zak Kemmer shooting a 1015 rated 44 to be tied for the 3rd best overall score.

Kari Dianich wins in a 1 hole playoff over Kristen Brown in the 5 person INT Womens field.

Jeremy O'Shields wins the basket in the raffle as one of the Schatz Brothers who had the winning ticket had left thereby allowing another ticket to be drawn.

Jeff Chernoff (Round 1) and Alan Fetta (Round 2) both aced hole 11, but Al was happy that Jeff did not get into the ace fund and he got to keep all 84 dollars.

HUGE THANKS to Gerritt Van Vranken and Brett Porter for scoring assistance.

Key for baskets given to Wes and I turned over future Wills Park Course work to Foley with the ceremonial shovel at the morning players meeting as I've done my time at Wills over the last 6 plus years and almost non stop in the last 24 months since the redesign was approved on AUG 21st 2010.

Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the last GSSS Event at Wills!
