Well, that's just a great attitude, boss.keith johnson wrote:Going forward for the last 2 Events - if you aren't in when it closes and you suddenly decide you want to play after it has been on sale for 7 weeks - don't be surprised when I don't care to hear why you waited and just "all of a sudden you went to signup and saw it was closed so please let me in" - because you will hear the sound of sorry, no spots are available, but thanks for caring enough to check in and see how I was feeling.
So, there was room for 6 more people that really wanted to play after all. My best wishes go out to those no-shows since obviously, something traumatic prevented them from attending.keith johnson wrote:6 no shows and scores are up here: http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/77760

Thanks for another great tournament at Meeks on Saturday. Many of us appreciate all that you and your family do for disc golf. The GSSS will be missed next year. Maybe one of the negative nellies will step up and try to do a 10th of what you do for disc golf and realize that it isn't as easy as you make it look. Looking forward to Wills in August!

Thanks Hugh,
It is players like you and several other regulars who understand that makes it worthwhile to keep putting up with the Woody's, Bootsie's, Kellner's and other whining babies of Disc Golf.
Nobody forces anyone to play the Events I run, so I try to put on the best show possible and throw out way more cash and prizes than "B"-Tier standards, even though I'm running C-Tier Events to help keep the players happy.
I appreciate your sponsorship and support over the years - and don't count on anyone of these whiners to EVER try and run Events, because they wouldn't know the first thing to do to make the players happy and to put on a good show while putting up with all the crap that goes along with ther behind the scenes stuff as well as the day of stuff.
keith johnson wrote:I at least thought you could tell time Patrick, but I guess I was wrong about that too - My post here was an hour & 1/2 before my FB post and your FB responses so I was just going on what you had actually said on SAT when making my post here - all the FB stuff was hours after this post was made - so you saying I just don't quit is non-sensensical.
I do hope people see the Events and how they are consistently run from year to year where players know what to expect and how the payouts will be BEFORE they ever show up at MY Events -That is something that is lacking in alot of Events here and around the country where you just enter and "hope for the best" in terms of how it is run and how the payouts will be.
At any Event I run - you know the times will be adhered to, the courses will be groomed and ready, check-in will go smooth, there will be no day of signups, added cash will be at each Event, ALL AMS will get players packages and at some Events ALL players get players packages, you NEVER have to buy in for CTP's, Ace fund is $1 per round played, awards ceremonies will be as short as possible (usually around 45 minutes but always under an hour) etc, etc, etc.
I sincerely hope that anyone who wants to play my Events plays them, and to anyone who worries that they have to like me to enjoy playing a Disc Golf Event that I run - I guess you'll just miss out on a good Disc Golf Event because of some silly notion that you have to like me to have a good time.

I appreciate the sentiment Kade, but it's more about financial planning than anything else. Some people can lay out 6 months of entry fees in advance and not feel the pinch, others can't.kade.erp wrote:@Woody -Maybe we should chip in and get you a calender or day planner so you can handle several weeks of advanced planning
And Mike, you know I really do. Hope it's all better soon and you're back out baggin' like a boss!Mike D wrote:So thanks Woody!! I am glad you care.
