For many various reasons, The Blind Hog Throwdown will only be playing the Temp course at Apalachee. The Temp course will boast 19 fantastic holes at Apalachee High School.
We will have Metal baskets for all holes.
I will be posting the current players list this week.
With 19 holes that means , we have room for 76.

With the removal of the Yargo course, and from the feedback we've received concerning certain holes from last years Temp Course, we're making some changes to this years layout and we wanted to go ahead and get a potential map out in advance.



Changes from last year we are thinking about:

GONE are two of the woods holes (the peasants rejoice!). But at this time, the dreaded bridge hole does stay in the woods. Remember, this is the Blind Hog.

Instead of coming out of the woods under the trail sign and shooting up the hill, #8 basket is now tucked under that sign. We know folks on #7 will have to wait for players to make it to the #8 tee, but we'll have water under a tent while you wait.

The long pad has been removed from the hole behind the bleachers (taking that fence out of play) and the basket is not as tucked in the woods.

The baseball field in the back is now in play on the new #12.

New hole #14 is an island green with a very elevated tee. Wouldn't surprise me if this becomes the start hole for any playoffs.

There are now 19 holes and many existing holes were made longer (#11,#12,#18) and some new holes are lengthy as well (#15,#16). And yes the par on the downhill hole (old #16, now #17) has been dropped to 3 from 4.

We are still working out what will be OB and what won't. Our goal is fairness. You shouldn't be penalized if a road is in play (like the new #16 for example), but errant shots (like the parking lot on #9 and #18) will be punished. But some roads will be OB (like #14 and #19) by design.

As always, this is a work in progress, and nothing is final til the day of.

I like the new holes... they look cool...
I don't like that I'll probably pass out somewhere on the back nine...
That is a TON of walking, up and and down, then back up again...on a course that has little to no shade, and it's likely to be 90+ that day.
and you are right... there is going to be a HUGE bottleneck on 7's teepad. With people having to retrieve their discs from the pond, and then walking to 8... that will cause some major delays.
I HIGHLY recommend coolers at EVERY hole!
and I personally think that all roads/concrete/asphalt should be OB...
16 looks like it'd be an AWESOME hole if that were the case.

Yes there are a few more than 19. I have had a lot of people tell me that they are signing up on day off tourney.
Online registration is open until Thursday.
Please help by getting more people signed up.
I will be available to walk some people around the course layout a couple of days this week for those that are interested.

Unfortunately , we are not able to set the baskets out tomorrow , we should have the map reposted tonight and you are free to come and check it out . I should have tee boxes marked tomorrow morning and an x where the basket goes. That is the best that I can do. my plan is to have the baskets out by 730 on Saturday morning.

Notice that #8 is now an ace run thru the woods that keeps you from being in the way of the folks on #7.

The building you have to go around on #10 is going to be a mando. No going over the roof.

We are pretty sure ALL roads and ALL parking lots are OB. Finalizing tomorrow.

I'll have the final pars and distances posted tomorrow... thinking a par of 61.

Everyone who passed on this one missed out on an AWESOME course! Didn't miss Yargo one bit!
it wasn't just a Drive 'n Putt... you had to play position, and make upshots, and hole 16 has to be the signature hole!

Excellent layout...Not really anything to tweak for next time (hopefully there will be a tourney here in the fall!)
