Monty dubs = the same day. I wish someone hadn't double scheduled. I have to express irritation at this, since I did my part, checked for conflicts, picked a weekend where I thought nothing else was going on, and suddenly there's a C-Tier on the same day. I'm guessing they looked at Monty Dubs and decided that it's not sanctioned so it doesn't matter, but it kinda matters to me when I have to suddenly compete with a C Tier.

I'm pretty sure the OP folks didn't even look at this message board & if they did, they didn't care about a conflict.

Don't sweat it, I doubt that will mess with Monty attendance.

That would conflict with Darn Tree Doubles. I believe the date might already have been changed before I ever got huffy above, according to sources...

You are correct - the 2 dates I was told of was 14th and 28th - I told him first date conflicted with Worlds and may cost him players (and was inside milage restictions for a Major) and other was open sanctioning wise.

Other OP people mentioned your Event and he E-mailed me at noon (which I'm just seeing now) to say he was changing it to the 14th (which I'll have to check with HQ to see if it is ok - but I've listed it for now just in case it is approved - It could / should be as it is BEFORE actual singles play starts, but who knows)

Either way - if sonmeone REQUESTS a date for a Sanctioned Event, I can only GUIDE them as to what is on the sanctioned and unsanctioned threads for them to look at trying to avoid conflicts - BUT there is nothing that allows me to turn down a request for a sanctioned Event when it meets all of the PDGA requirements - there is only a 25 mile restriction for C-tier Events - which in theory means there could be 4-5 sanctioned Events on the same day in the Metro area.

With more Events being run in the Metro area and still the same amount of weeks in the year it gets increasing difficult to have things not conflict.

Wayne Kiddle and the Georgia State Games guy will keep everyone updated on here about the Event, as I have nothing to do with the running of it - and I will only post the info from the PDGA when I find out next week here.

Thanks for being the guy who guides, Keith--seriously. It's nice to have one place to look to see what everyone's doing when I go to plan Monty Dubs's's.

That is the main reason I set it up this way - to be a centralized place to look so TD's will be able to plan.

I'd like to apologize for the conflict of the double scheduling on behalf of the Georgia Games, it was my error. I am new to the disc golf world and made the mistake of only checking the PDGA sanctioned events board when looking for a date and ignoring the unsanctioned event list as I was not aware of it. Again, I am sorry for the confusion and have taken action to resolve my mistake by changing the date of the event.

The Georgia Games Disc Golf tournament will now be held on July 14th at Oregon Park. To my knowledge this does not conflict with any local or competing tournaments. Please alert me if this is not the case.

I appreciate the understanding of everyone and hope that by changing the date, any hard feelings have been lost. Best of luck to the Monty Dubs and any other tournaments this summer and I hope that you will consider attending the Georgia State Games on July 14th at Oregon Park.

According to Andrew Sweeton PDGA Tour Manager, there is no problem with the 14th as Worlds Doubles does not create a conflict.

And seriously no problems Adam. I started off a little huffy, but I know this message board isn't the one great authority on disc golf. Also, you aren't obligated to not have a tournament on the same day as mine, but it is nice that you don't want to!

A reminder that the organizer and Oregon Park Club have decided to make this Event NON-SANCTIONED now.

It will still be on the same date.
