3.24.10:

21 show, 16 in on CTPs, 13 in on action, 7 in bonus action, finished with 15 minutes of daylight to spare -- great start! Perfect weather with mid-70's & sunny. Park was packed with people. All but one of the trees that were supposed to be moved have been so the course is minimally impacted (14 long is, but 14 short is better if anything). 5 long has small trees on the fairway but the air lane is still clear.

Played a slighly harder layout than last week with every pushed back a bit, par 60, only short pad used were 14 & 12 (playing to big hyzer pin). Play whenever Wednesday you can - don't have to join "league".

It's only set up on WED since it is a temp course during DST - during winter usually once a month - look in the Perkerson thread for all the info as John keeps it updated religously.

What Keith said. There have been 1-2 cards full of casual players every week so far. All the league stuff is optional. I am asking for a $1 fee even if you play casually as I'm trying to raise $$ for the course fund ... this will also get you entered in a handicap playoff at the end of the season if you play 8 times.

New rule came out of Josh's eagle .... $100 cap on the payout for valid eagle only. His was very valid, #9 pushed way back in the corner ... i think that's only the 2nd 2 on that hole in 1,000+ rounds. Ace pays out full fund. So fund balance is ~$50.

20+ there + one suited observer... mostly casuals ... i think ~14 casual (maybe more), 9 in on action, 5 of those in on bonus action. Perfect weather, high 60s and sunny, park not crowded. Short a few baskets so had a few large groups and played 14 short pad.

9 total ... 7 show up for action with everyone ALL IN; 2 helpful casuals cleaned the baskets behind us; 13 baskets but easily managed

Another day with perfect conditions. Park crowded toward end of round around bball court. Played par 61 layout with 14 long, played long tee position on 8 (~365') ... and 4 was different b/c of picnicers around tables.

Woody kills it with a 54 (rd ratings off b/c of low turnout, should be ~1015 rated round). Plotky 3's #13 from ~300' out with a sick anhyzer flex shot to take the remaining $58 ace/eagle fund. So the fund is back to $0.

Next week 5.12.10--
I'm out of town but action is on, not sure who's running it yet, but signin 5:15, pick'em 5:25, tee off 5:30

Played par 61 with #8 tee pushed straight back to about 360'; 12 short tee again; 11 shorter tee. Plotky/Woody push to playoff, not sure who won? and Me/Michael push to playoff for 3rd, but michael actually won due to math error. @ michael -- you've got $15 credit, my score was down wrong (actually 62) so you won outright.

Weather - very nice - park xtra thuggy with our 1st breakin attempt (failed, but josh's truck damaged)

Now does extra thuggy increase your round rating?

Not at all, it actually decreases cause you may quit with 5 holes left when you are 6 down, giving you a nice 600 rated round.
I had a chance of winning 200 bucks that week. Instead, I ended up with a $ 550** bill to have my truck repaired.

Interesting night in the park tonight between good sized DG crowd, hawk sighting, possible gunshots, diversity on the bball court, injured pit bull near #9 basket and nice weather. Our card started on #5 and had carded three 6's and one 3, and everyone still ended up shooting very well. Park is super groomed right now with minimal shule and fresh cut grass, should be looking great for Hotlanta.

Played same layout with #11 tee pushed long; this is my favorite spot thus far ... thoughts?

Playoff format
Playoffs will run for the qualified people in conjunction with regular action, its just a bonus payout @ the end of September. This year you must play at least 2 rounds during September. Going to do a handicapped playoff and all rounds count. Will payout 1/3 of field based on low score average of handicapped rounds during September. So if you play 3 rounds, 3 rounds count. I will let you decide PRIOR TO STARTING whether or not a round will count. That way if you throw 2 keeper rounds in the 1st 2 weeks you can still play for regular action without fear of blowing your good score.

Looking for volunteers during Hotlanta
We are looking for 6+ non-playing people to assist in keeping the locals off the course during Sunday of Hotlanta. PM me if interested ... you'll get to watch some great action and I have some plastic for you.

One more thing ... I'm missing a basket, anyone end up with one in your car? I know its a traveller, possibly red, would have been there from 2 weeks ago?

Week 1 thrown out because all scores were statistically invalid for everyone (outside of 2 standard deviations). probably b/c it was cold & rainy.

Somebody check my math, especially around last 2 cash spots. I've got me edging Josh by .08, and both of us jumping Andrew C. Note that I am working in Open Office on this pc, so this isn't all formula driven as i'd like it to be. Week's 1-4 are using a straight score +/- handicap = par 61 score.

Week 5 used the par 60 layout due to lack of daylight playing #14 from short pad. This is adjusted to 61 as a straight divergence from par (60 in this layout). Using my raw score of 54 as an example, 54 is -6 to par .... my 3.00 handicap + -6 to par = -3 to par + 61 = 58.00 adjusted score.

yep, gotta adjust it to 61 .... so 57 + 2.25 = 59.25. Par 60 - 59.25 = -0.75. 61 - 0.75 = 60.25

everybody's score is +1 to get to par 61, like the other weeks. do make sure i have all the correct scores input though; i looked at it several times but needing double check on those.

yep, gotta adjust it to 61 .... so 57 + 2.25 = 59.25. Par 60 - 59.25 = -0.75. 61 - 0.75 = 60.25
