To anybody that feels like doing a tourney challenge at Meeks I will be more than happy to collect the tags before and disburse them afterwards. AM Tags only please and you need to be playing the long course both rounds. PRO taggers can mamage their own action.

Find me before the rounds (Silver Element or on the course) and make sure I write your name down. Quite a few us will be there so there could be quite a change in the standings.

Bottom line is that I am challenging all of you for two rounds.

Yeah it real hard to keep track of my #2 tag when Moose has never been at any Event I've been at. :mrgreen:

Basically it went like this: Earlier in the year when Plotky signed up he was playing Am at the GSSS event and there were no pro's buying them so I gave him the option of moving up. I think anyone can beat Bradshaw (no knock on him, but I haven't seen him winning much in Pro Masters right?), and I really can't explain about Ritger. That was the only way he would buy one, and again I think he is beatable, but I also think he should have a Pro one instead.

I don't know why more Pro's won't buy the tags and if someone came up to me and wanted an AM that I thought was a true Pro I would not sell them one. If everyone wants those three to move up then I will trade them out at no cost or return their money. Again, I think all 3 of the guys are beatable, I have played with them a bunch over the last year or so and everyone can have an off day. Now if Plotky wins the Pro Grand Masters at Worlds he will definitely have to move up. :mrgreen:

What are you basing Pro on?

PDGA designation? If so, I guess I am the only "Pro" and I will glady trade up my AM Bag Tag for a Pro Tag (which I can do holding the #1 tag). Even though this is not a PDGA sanction event or have anything in the rules about Pro vs AM (that I'm aware of ...) ... and anyone can be a Pro .. you just have to pay the extra $.

PDGA Rating - no that doesn't apply. Most all of us are rated below 940. Some are higher, but not me.

Perceived Skill Level - I thank you all, I thank you all.

I mean what's the grievance? Where is the line, who are the "Pro's"? Exclude all by name with supporting justification. I'd like to see it.

And by the way, that question is INVALID ... not legitimate!

the format is match play with 9 hole rounds .... anybody can win that

Maybe next year but when the Ams sell Bag Tags they tell the new/less experienced plays they will be playing against Ams and Not Pros. Yes john, I know it's 9 holes of match play in the beginning.....remember the first year? YOU were in the Finals for the Pros.....didn't you win that?

Lets see, I just looked up 4 names on the PDGA website and all were pro except one.

It's all up to you guys now, I am done with it.

No offense was meant to you Bradshaw, I think you are a good golfer and I will continue to challenge you any day of the week and if I loose then so be it, I will be back the next day to try again. This was supposed to be FUN!!! And as a fundraiser for the ADGO in my own personal way. Everyone has taken that away and decided to make it another reason to bitch just like they do about tournaments, dates, pay-outs and everything else. I don't see where a little healthy competition makes everyone freak out and wanna just play with people of their same skill level. Why buy a tag then? It's not like Dollar, Hammock, McCoy, or any of the other top rated Pro's in the state have AM tags. Hell, Plotky was playing AM just last year and has moved up this year....

I am over it, if you want me to run the match play and continue to sell tags I will. If Bradshaw, Plotky, and Ritger want to switch to Pro tags then I will do that no matter what they are holding in the Am tags. If folks want their money back then will do that too. Jesus Christ people, act like you have a little sense and have some damn fun with this game.

By the way, my resume:

#38 AM Tag at end of year last year (maybe that was 2007)
931 PDGA rating - Very AM
0 PDGA Wins - AM or Pro

I do normally play up, mainly to try to improve my game. And the cost of playing up in tourneys is significantly more than cost of Tag or $s from each sold tag going into match play. i.e., I pay dearly to play up.

The one thing I like about being an over 40 mediocre player is that normally I can pick my division and play with whomever I like. Guess that don't apply to Bag Tag. - Not directed at you Wookie.

Yeah, 935, so doesn't that mean I can still play intermediate, just wait till we have another ERP tourney, it will go back down.

Sorry, I was just trying to get more PRO tags sold.

I think that all of this is a wonderful lesson. I know that there was a lot of debate on a one or two tag system, a poll was made, a vote was taken, and a decision was made. I don't know why it matters where you play just that you are having fun and everyone should want to compete against MORE people.

If there are at least 7 more people that will buy PRO or trade their AM tag for a PRO one, I'LL MOVE UP! It's no fun as Keith pointed out earlier to have a handful of people that have PRO tags and don't hardly ever get to play against each other!? IF the numbers were reversed, I would have a PRO tag, but since I bought mine at the very beginning, the ONLY people buying them were AMs.

You think people don't buy them now, wait till there is one tag and folks have to actually compete against 1000 rated players. I won't donate my money to them. I do that enough at all the weekly action. This was supposed to be about fun and not money anyway so next year if the ADGO wants to do one tag then that is their choice. They can even use the same design for the tag if they want to.

Ah, you can always split up the end of the year tourney by players in divisions they usually play in. Still for the majority of the year there's nothing wrong with there being only one tag. It's much easier and makes so much sense.

I don't think Wookie was stating he is quitting the BT competition. And I don't think you can question someone's character ... someone that has stepped up to 3 terms to lead the effort.

There is always area for improvement, but the ADGO should address community inputs via poll or constructive thread/forum. Then assess options and plan rule changes for next term. If the rules today are not being followed then just resolve the violation with the individual. Show me the rule, and I will move.

Otherwise, my position is that this is not a PDGA sanctioned event and I can play where I want. Yes, I changed my previous stated position of just moving to Pro, because I'm not sold on the "value" ...

I know the ADGO is trying to sell Tags and encourage growth of the sport .... but what message are you trying to send?

Of the $15, half goes to ADGO ... good cause, sell it. The other half ($7.50) goes to a year end-tourney that not everyone will CASH ... good cause, sell it.

I agree with atl scott, and recommend for consideration next year, one set of tags. Tier the match play, or create LOSERS bracket, or side action for "divisional" bragging rights.

Skeletor is merely maintaining his Am reading status so he can compete in major Am reading events, such as Am "War Of The" Worlds. When he decides to return to Pro reading, these misunderstandings won't happen.

There are not enought pro tags to compete with, maybe if there were more than 2 pro tags. Why even have a pro tag at all. This is the first time I have seen anything about pro tags, kind of like bigfoot, herad about it but not sure if it is real.
