This weekend the course is going to be set up to play the advanced division for the AO. Just wondering if the pro's play the same pins, but differnet teepads, and if so can someone give me a layout discription. Also when is the course going to be setup for this weekend, just incase someone may be interested in going up to play before this Sunday.

Alot of people want to play the AO format this weekend so instead of 18 blue we are playing the AO format. I'm not sure which format will be played but it will have something to do with the AO.

It was announced that the Advanced format of the AO will be played this sunday. The Pro format will be played on the 5th sunday of March.

Ok everyone, I played the format today and improved my best saturday score by three strokes.

So I'm going to be a sadistic bastard and leave the course as is. :twisted:

1, 2, 3 & 4 are in normal positions. (2 wont be short until the short anchor is
fixed)
5, 6, 7 & 8 are short

9 is long

10 is left

11 is short

12A is straight ahead

12B is INSIDE!

12C & D are long

12E is short

12F is left

12G is long

12H & I are long

13 & 14 are short

17 & 18 are short

Are these doubles still going on? I talked to someone last weekend and he said there was no one there on Sunday around 1:00 (no play on holiday weekend?). Is there another forum where people are updating the schedule or whether play is on or not? How about this sunday?

So for anyone who wants to get a look at it ahead of time or who wants to practice it in tournament layout, here's your chance!

It was only played for practice going into this Saturday's Event for doubles, but except for 2 holes that use temp baskets, you can play it whenever you like by just printing out the layout from the message board and giving it a shot.

Times for doubles follows the time changes for daylight savings time. Always.
So this Sunday 11/2 when daylight savings time ends at 2AM means that teeoff should be at 1PM

Maybe they were all on vacation, or with their families for the holidays.
I know I am so that's where I was.
It was nice to be playing in 80 degree weather with 20 MPH winds again - I cleaned up on Saturday league and Tuesday league.
(Yes, in the rest of the country they have leagues, where you can play scratch, doubles or both with $1 a hole skins, bounties for bogey free rounds, and bounties for getting a 2 on the 430 ft hole 18 at Kendall)

Came in first on Saturday, picking up $56 for my efforts, and picked up $36 on Tuesday (could have been $61 as a bounce out of the bottom of the basket had me tying for first instead of winning outright costing me $25 bucks)

Ah the memories of the good ol' days. :lol:

Was great to see the gang and I possibly have a couple of the guys talked into coming for the ATL OPEN if Central will be in the TRUE supersized layout.(Need to check with Rand to see, but with separate weekends, there should be no reason not to.)

I should be at Central this Sunday.

Yes sir 4PM as time changes this Sunday at 2AM, making this Sunday the start of the "Summer hours"

Be earlier than that though for pay-in and drawing of partners.

This Sunday March 15th since most of the Ams will be at the Atlanta Open at ERP - we will be playing the ATLANTA OPEN LAYOUT for the PROS.

Signup starts at 3:30 - Draw at 3:55 PM - Tee off at 4 sharp as we need to finish in the daylight. Wills Park payout sheet will be used.
15 Dollar buy in - 11 dollar basic action
10 to prize fund
3 ctp's
1 ace
1 club fee.

Ace fund will be available from ALL holes that use regular tees to regular basket positions listed below. Blue ace fund is almost at or slightly over $500!!
Blue 3, Blue 4, Blue 5, Blue 6, Red 7, Blue 8, Blue C, Red I, Red 15, Blue 17.

CTP's will be Holes Red 7, Red I, and Red 15 since the Red ace fund is not that big, as it was just hit recently.

Corndawg, there are normally all 18 + the 9 or so in the woods, and they are ALL permanent. If baskets are missing then more than likely they have been moved OFF the course in prep for the Open. Just go out and see what is there. Go play the Open layout, I am sure that you can find a written version of it somewhere on the AO thread with more than adequate descriptions, cause I know who wrote em, and he is more than thorough.

Or just wait till 4 and follow one of the doubles groups, I am sure that we will be playing to actual baskets.

I know there are several factors in why dubs at CP are the way it is.... but after playing Alex Dubs this morning I just have to ask/wonder...

Why are Alex Dubs $5-$10 and brining in 30 players while a bigger, longer, more challenging course at CP Dubs $12-$20 and struggling to bring in 10-15 players?? Why is CP Dubs more then twice as expensive then Alex Dubs?

I really am just curious. It is a lot easier to tell the wife I am spending $5 if I choose as opposed to $12 if I choose.

In my opinion it is this:
Different player base and mentality - Central was/is about big payouts and 6 CTP's - the players actually voted to RAISE the entry fee to 20 from 15 for all in - but remember you can play there for 12 bucks on those $20 Sundays or 7 bucks on the $15 Sundays as that is the price without ace fund and CTP's.

Alex players are more beginner freindly, family, non- Event playing players that are there for more fun and comraderie than competiton.
I would guess that 1st place at Alex pays less than Central with 2-3 times more players.

There is nothing wrong with either way of doing doubles - just choose the one that suits what you wish to play.

Doubles times stays at 4PM until time change which is at 2AM on NOV 7th in 2010

On NOV 7th the start time will be at 1PM and will stay at 1 PM until Daylight savings time starts again in 2011.

12 dollars for full action, mixed layout today, sign up at 3:30 and tee off at 4. Next week it changes to 1 tee off (although Dave may change it to 1:30 - should post soon). Normally first week is blue, second week is red, 3rd week is mixed, and fourth is white (the occasional 5th weekend is dealer's choice).

It is going to be 18 Gold today. It is a beautiful day and a fun layout. Gold layout is fun and challenging since it was changed.

Just a heads up that there is a yellow jacket nest next near bottom of the tree at front and right of red tee pad. Stay away until they are zapped or you will be zapped.
