Rec Center Addition?

Where I work we bid on commercial building jobs and I noticed we have one at Central Park at the end of this month.

I have not seen the drawings yet, but they are titled "Central Park Recreation Center Addition".

Which building is the Rec Center? Will expanding it interfere with the course?

Yes, it'll change holes 12c and 12d (and maybe 12e). What we were told was that they were basically doubling the rec center and the parking lot. They are supposedly laying a carbon copy next to the current rec center. It sdoes impact the course, but we really need the extra facilities in Forsyth county. They have at least 2 more courses on the drawing board , one near my neighborhood (I have posted about before) and one in the southern part of the county. I really hope they come thru as funds are tight up here.

That shows NO interference with the existing course and actually will add 50-60 feet more grass (assuming they plant grass outside the parking lot) where the existing turn in the road by Hole 12D is. The only losses will be to the 2 temp holes that have been played in the GSSS Events. My hope is that they don't start construction until after OCT of 2010, but if they do - I alraedy have other ideas ready for the A-Tier in Sept 2010.

Mike, do you have any idea when this project is supposed to start since your company is working on it?

We have to put our bid out to our contractors on the 29th.

Depending on how the system moves, construction usually starts anywhere form 3 - 8 months later.

Shoot for weather delays and funding issues so it starts on OCT 1st 2010 please.

Thanks for the answer, and depending on where they actually start working it may not even be an issue for the temp holes if construction starts in the 8 month phase.
