There is one this Saturday from 10 - 2 (meeting at the practice basket) to install new tee signs. We will likely have at least one more before the tournament. Thanks for asking. Here is the note from crew leader Dave Kenney:

Hi All, here's an update...

TOOLS NEEDED:
Shovels, Weed Trimmers, Level, Pole Saw, Loppers, Anything else you think will help for the above projects...

Tape Measure

Post Hole digger, in case we need to go deeper on any of the holes. Most of them looked good, but just in case...

See you on Saturday...

Great workday today. Dave and I filled in and leveled all the posts for the new signs. We also worked on some of the Red Tees's. Keith and TERRY did a phenominl job on 3 and 4. 3 looks fantastic, 4 look rediculously AMAZING!!

After all that, Dave and I played 18 from the White tees and he ACED number one right off the back, nice shot Dave!

Editted to correct name.

Haha, are you serious? Do you have nothing else to do?

Yes we got A LOT of things done today to improve the entire course and a lot more will be done before the AO. Feel free to come to the next work day.

I'm done going back and forth with you. For the last time, have a great weekend!

Also posted on the Forsyth County thread

Thanks to Dave, Cdawg, and Terry, for coming out yesterday!

Terry with the killer weedeater, and I with the trusty lawn mower COMPLETELY finished holes 3 and 4 as well as the trails to 4 tees and 5 blue tee from basket 4 yesterday. You will be amazed by the difference in how they look! I also cleared the area on the slope hole and the walkway to the gym hole tee pad.

Dave and the Dawg were putting the dirt in around all of the post for the 18 red pad tee signs, as well as some OB line stringing. I can't wait to see Nathan's signs on the posts!

The course is shaping up nicely, and the NEW wind flags look sweet.

Only things left now are to getpads in the locations of all 18 holes for the AO, and this puppy will be ready to go fro March 29th.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped keep Central looking good!

Thanks Keith, maybe I miss-heard him say that I went to school with him and I may know him as Wayne.

Anyway, my friend and I played today and the course is better for sure. 3 and 4 look AMAZING!!

Any date idea for the next workday??

That's up to Dave Kenney as all that is left is to redo/finish the OB string on 9/10 and 11/12 and clearing the downed tree branches on 12 C, as well as making sure there is a rubber mat down on all 18 teeing areas for the AO layout before the pro weekend. I have to spray paint the areas where the ob rope wil go on 7 and where it will split the fairways for the slope/gym holes and the course will be ready to rock and roll.

i'll be not available much as this weekend I'll be in Vegas, next weekend I'll be getting a look at McCurry, the following weekend I'll be Helping the ama side of the AO as well as marking and stringing McCurry, the weekend after that I'll be Running McCurry, then it will be time for the pro side to the AO, so i'll have at best 1 or 2 free days in March before the Pro weekend, so i'm counting on the local guys to help take care of things.

Dave, Keith, et. al.;

It is rare for me to miss a workday, didn't know this one was coming until I stumbled upon Terry and Keith mid-beautification on #4. Please give me a heads up on date and time for next work session. I will bring the usual suspects and power tools.

Dale,

Maybe something you and the crew can work on, as it is something that can be done relatively easy with 2 people is to make copies of the Hole by Hole descriptions from the Atlanta Open thread, and to make sure there is a FULL SIZE rubber mat down for each of the teeing areas. As only the pros are playing the course, there should be 18 decent FULL SIZE pads out there at Central to put on the 18 tees that will be used. Alot of them are already in place, 1-2, 3, 4 and 5 are in the right spots off the top of my head. Anything you guys can do for the mats would be a HUGE help!

Thanks,
Keith

Keith, I should be able to get the mats laid out this weekend. Do we need to notify parks and rec that we will have vehicle on part of the course? I can call them if needed just wanted to know the protocol.

Dale, you need to coordinate with Dave Kenney. We pretty much have free reign as to what we do. He might need to let Matt Pate know.

I will give Dave a call today. Assuming we have permission, we will move the mats Saturday afternoon or Sunday AM (Oct 28/Mar 1). Will do a quick review of the plan with Dave before we actually start moving anything.

We didn't get a chance to move the pads this weekend due to weather? Will shoot for Saturday, March 7th, to get the remaining pads moved to proper AO designated tees.

Most everything is done - just 3 tee pads need to move and Terry will be putting out string.
The ATL OPEN Layout will be played for Doubles this Sunday at 4PM.

I know this thread is from last year, but the same question still applies...

When can we expect a work day for the 2010 ATL Open?
