Annual Elections on January 8th, 2011

To all Cobb Disc Golf Club members and those interested in becoming members:

We are holding our Annual Elections on Saturday, January 8th, at the Ward Recreation Center (on Highway 120 just West of Midway Road in West Cobb).

The meeting will run from 10am until 3pm, with an hour's break for lunch around 1pm. During the first half of the meeting, we will discuss our club's bylaws, consider revisions and amendments, and then vote to ratify them. After lunch, we will hold our elections for the following 5 positions on the Board of Directors, and the following 5 Committee Chairs:

To the Board of Directors, we will elect a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Sergeant-at-Arms. The Committees with an elected chairperson will be an Events Committee (Tournament Director), a Membership Committee, a Media Committee, a Fundraising Committee, and a Facilities Committee. Any member of the club can run for any of these positions.

If you want to influence the future of disc golf in Cobb County, THIS is the time and place to get in on the action!

Short update: we ratified a new set of bylaws and elected new directors and committee chairs as follows:

President Bob Pressley, Vice President Mike Eldridge, Treasurer Bob Williams, Secretary Lewis Wilson, Sergeant-at-Arms Chris Monte, Events Chair Nick Richardson, Facilities Chair Craig Dickerson, Fundraising Chair George Grindley, Media Chair Scott Hazlett, and Membership Chair Taylor O'Sullivan.

All members of the Cobb Disc Golf Club are welcome to participate in any committees as they desire. Our board meetings are also open to members who wish to attend (only directors can vote at the board meetings), so if you're interested keep a look out for notices of board and committee meetings.

If you want to join our club, visit our membership page. If you joined or renewed since October 1, 2009, be assured that your membership is still valid until the normal expiration date, no matter what level membership you purchased. All members who have not renewed since October 1, 2010 will need to renew by April 1 to avoid having their memberships go inactive. If you're not sure of your membership status, check with our Membership Coordinator, Taylor O'Sullivan, or one of the directors and we'll get the information for you.

I'll be sending out meeting minutes to our membership once I have it written up. Our next general members' meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 14. Thanks to all those who showed up and participated in this one!
