Flyboy @ DGCR

Flyboy is just .04 behind making the top 10 courses in the world on DGCR. It is at 4.63 and the #10 is 4.67.

I am not saying go over there and puff up its numbers but if you have played and have an account over there go give it a review...it would be awesome seeing a GA course up there and it is truly worthy.

I'm planning to review Flyboy some time soon, but I'm not sure I could give it a 5-star rating with the old single-chained baskets they have there and the lumpy stuff they have under some of the rubber tee pads. 5 stars is supposed to be a virtually flawless course. I'd probably give it a 4.5 instead, which would tend to lower, rather than raise, its rating vs. the Top Ten on DGCR. If I could give it a 4.8 I would.

Also Craig Dickerson just wrote a really good review of the course. If you're a member, I recommend reading it and giving him a thumbs-up if you like it. He's a Gold-level reviewer there, and deserves credit for his good reviews.

I don't agree with the "perfect" philosophy because there is no such thing. But like I said, don't rate it just to get it in there, I know there are a lot of folks who have played and not reviewed that go over there so go do it and be honest.

To me it IS a 5 and it is a 5 because you leave in awe.

I would rather flyboy have single chains & rubber pads and be the way it is then to have double chains & concrete and be in a public park.

Kelly just bought 9 Innova Discatcher Pro's to replace 1/2 the single chain baskets.
I've played some double chained baskets that wouldn't let the disc fall in the bucket if the putt wasn't going 50mph (ala Dusty style) so having more chains is not always a good thing.
I also think that having the rubber mats is a good thing as the design can change without major work being done or busting up poured concrete slabs. To me, having temp. pads is not a reason for a lower rating as the course is always changing and improving.
Hope others see it the way I do. (i think a true DG course is never actually finished... it should/can be a continuous evolution to perfection)

Now.... time to go vote!

No pictures will do the course justice, especially mine considering my poor photography skills, but they'll give you a decent representation. A couple of them are blurry and I swiped about three or four from other people but together they should give you a hint, if not more, of how great this course really is...
