Clayton, GA course

The Clayton GA course should have basket in by Saturday. Sleeves were cemented in this past weekend. The course is a short 9 hole course with not a lot of options. It's an open course and its short...all but hole 7.

The course is located behind the Clayton City Hall on Highway 76 west of town. The property that was given to use is an old school grounds. It has been used for storage of US Forest Service equipment, dumping of broken concrete and asphalt from city road projects and generally not maintained all that well. It's the only property the city would allow a course.

The course was done by a scout working on his Eagle Scout. It's the first course in the area so its a start.

The baskets are in the ground. Tees are currently marked with landscape flags. Permanent tees will take another couple of weeks. Course is a par 28. It's a pretty short course except #7...a 500'+ blind hole with a dogleg. There's a an OB creek the entire right side of fairest and behind the basket.

For the first course in Rabun County, its a good start.

Course is in the ground less than 2 weeks and we have a request for another proposal. Looks like we might end up with a 2nd course by springtime.

The tee boxes are being built this week. Two nice 5X10' cement tee pads per hole. So while only 9 holes, you can play as if it were 18.

Once all cement tee pads are done, we're going to mark green tees for kids. So there will be 3 tees per hole with the short tees being designed for the under 10 junior player.
