Favorite pin positions

I think we have seen all of them now or nearly all of them.

My favorites:

15 in the lefty backhand position
17 in the mega long
10 in any position

Honorable mentions:

I am quite surprised at how difficult 3 short is...from the blues the trees make it a tight shot and from the reds its so damn short you overshoot it with a putter.

Best short IMO.

18 short is the remaining one that hasn't been moved. That's up for this week.

3 short is tough if you don't have a good right turning disc. I thought you were a lefty though...

#17 in the long position. If you can't bomb a drive up the alley, you have to place your drive to have a good approach shot to the basket.

I am but my backhand is more feeble than my forehand.

As for 17, not hard...just takes some accuracy because if you throw too conservative to avoid the pond you waste a stroke getting out into the open for your approach.

At the GCO I splashed from the reds and still got a 4....on a miracle putt.

Best hole on the course (IMHO) is Hole #13 in the long.

#3 long and #17 long are both really nice short par 4s, because a great, aggressive drive delivers a gimme birdie. While a bad drive on 3 leaves a tough low ceiling approach and a bad one on 17 lands you in the drink.

Hole 10 is the best hole for emptying the bag

13 blue in any pin is a sweet hole, a nice anhyzer or forehand (rh). got my second ace there, so i guess i'm biased

i personally like hole 6 short position and hole 11 both pin positions. 12 is not so bad either!

Ha! They say great minds think alike, but what's your excuse! I went with Ryan & Doug when the positions were mapped out and when we hit #13, I decided right then and there that the long position would be the bitchinest hole on the course! I just love that downhill approach with all of the trees in play... and several routes to choose from. That is a fun hole for sure... I like #10 also.

ah yea! dollar, i agree that 13 long is the coolest throw on the course. if you could only have seen it when doug and i were crawling around near #13 tee in the densest underbrush on the property. you couldn't see 20 feet, seriously. so we guessed at a fairway, taped the perimeter, and then got the call one day that they had cleared it. man, from night to day. i couldn't stop giggling.

i gotta give it up to doug for #17, as the design for it was all him. i think it's the best designed hole on the course regarding risk/reward and overall strategy.

so speaking of pin positions, whoever is in control of these, could you make it to where there is a good balance of short/long positions. i think right now every hole except #17 is short. personally, i like the par 4 options on 3, 16 and 17 waaay more than the par 3's. we need all the challenge we can get out there, well at least until the trees grow in...

I like the mix too, some of the shorts are a lot more fun than I thought they would be.

I enjoy running at 12 and 13 and 3 blue still gives me fits trying to find the right approach. I like the fact that they move often enough to not get "used" to them.

I'm sure Dollar or Vach shoot in the mid 40's most of the time they go out there. Most decent players can shoot under 50 on a regular basis. I think the lowest sanctioned event score was a 50 though. But then again there has only been 1 sanctioned round to my knowledge.

Dollar indicated he shot a 43 in Oct 2009, and said he thought Vach had shot a 42.
