LUNCH BREAK - food provided on site by the great BBQ place that did the food for the GSSS and Wes Campbells Event last year! Please take advantage of the food on site as the places to get food are not very close by. They will have Pulled Pork, Hotdogs, Chips, Slaw available at lunchtime!

HOLE BY HOLE DESCRIPTIONS FOR HAYWOOD VALLEY DISC GOLF COURSE POOLS 1 & 2
POOL 1 IS ALL PROS, BOTH ADVANCED DIVISIONS AND INTERMEDIATE Par 61
POOL 2 IS RECREATIONAL MEN Par 60 HOLES 2/6/ 11/18 HAVE FLAGGED TEES

Hole 1 400 ft Par 3
Both pools tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly left
To next tee, Pool 1 turns left across gully to rubber tee pad, pool 2 turns right to flags in field.

Hole 2 525 / 450 ft Par 4 YELLOW FLAG ON TOP
Both pools tee to a basket straight ahead across the field with a slightly left dogleg on other side of gravel road.
To next tee, both Pools turn left to tee #3.

Hole 3 320 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead across field.
To next tee, both Pools cross gully and turn right

Hole 4 215 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly left in wood line.
To next tee, both pools turn left towards the #5 tee area

Hole 5 400 ft Par 3
Both pools tee to basket ahead and into tree line.
To next tee both pools turn right to #6 tee area. Pool 1 tees from Rubber mat, pool 2 tees from flags in field near gravel road on left of fairway 255 feet ahead of rubber mat.

Hole 6 725 / 470 ft Par 5 BLUE FLAG ON TOP
Both pools tee to a basket straight ahead across field and up to the top of hill in distance. BASKET #2 is on right with YELLOW FLAG - DO NOT play to basket 2!
To next tee both Pools turn left to #7 tee pad.

Hole 7 350 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead.
To next tee both pools turn left 50 feet down gravel road.

Hole 8 300 ft Par 3
Both pools tee pad to a basket straight ahead on top of tractor.
IN or ACROSS Road beyond basket is OB.
To next tee both Pools turn right

Hole 9 355 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket in the field by the tree.
IN or ACROSS Road on left is OB.
To next tee turn left and walk behind #1TEE PAD and follow path through tree line and road to #10 tee near road

Hole 10 385 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly right over ridge near wood line.
IN or ACROSS Road on left is OB.
To next tee, both Pools turn right and Pool 1 tees from rubber mat, Pool 2 tees from flags 175 feet up the fairway and to the right.

Hole 11 585 / 410 ft Par 5 / 4
Both Pools tee to a basket ahead and slightly right through tunnel of trees.
To next tee, both Pools cross Hole 16 teeing area and continue ahead through tree line 120 feet to a tee pad to the right

Hole 12 235 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead uphill and slightly left.
To next tee both Pools walk ahead following trail of logs the #13 tee.

Hole 13 255 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket downhill and straight ahead thru trees.
To next tee both Pools turn left to Hole 14 tee area.

Hole 14 225 ft Par 3
Both pools tee to a basket downhill and straight ahead.
To next tee both Pools turn right and follow trail to #15 tee on left

Hole 15 320 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket uphill and straight ahead.
To next tee both Pools go slightly left and uphill towards to tee area for #16.

Hole 16 485 ft Par 4
Both Pools tee to a basket downhill straight ahead in the field.
To next tee both Pools continue towards gravel road and across to #17 tee.

Hole 17 405 ft Par 3
Both Pools tee to a basket ahead across field, and slightly left at the edge of the woods.
To next tee both Pools turn left, Pool 1 continues to Rubber mat for #18, Pool 2 continues down fairway to flags 75 ft ahead.

Hole 18 585 / 510 ft Par 4
Both Pools tee to a basket straight ahead across the field and slightly left in woods.
To next tee, both Pools go beyond the basket straight for 100 feet and follow the trail LEFT towards the #1 tee area by Tournament Central.

I DID NOT give you a thumbs down - I actually gave you a thumbs up - I'm only giving you a hard time because you said it "COULD BE" a 4.5, but yet you didn't give it a 4.25 or 4.5 :mrgreen:

The only thumbs down I gave for NGCT was from the bonehead who said in the middle of a drought that the course could be muddy if it rained and also said the course sucked because he and his friends lost 3 discs playing form the longs when they hadn't played disc golf much, and I quote "But it was to difficult for me and my friend. We have just started and are beginners. We lost a total of three discs (2 of which we found, then lost, while playing).
I can almost guarantee loosing a disc here at some point."

He gave it 2&1/2 and after I PM'ed him and asked him what beginners playing long pads after just starting and losing 3 discs had to do with the COURSE - he upped it to 3&1/4 which to this day is still the lowest rating anyone has given the course - even when the grass and rough was "early Moseley like".
He also only got 1 of 6 likes - which was probably one of his friends.

Not true - I usually don't add 1 name at a time until it comes down to that - With signups only a few weeks before each Event it just SEEMS that way - I just got access to the names on MARCH 15th - which made it difficult to add since I had no computer access until last evening as I was in LULA for GSSS #1. :mrgreen:

Watch out for the yellow jackets on the tee pad of hole 11. Nothing like throwing a few to warm up and trying to get ready for a great day of golf and then BAM............I get stung 20 times just as the 2-minute warning sounded.

Even though the Ramblin Wreck attacked me, the Campbell's course is one of the best layouts around.

That man is a one man yellow jacket crusher. :mrgreen:

This year I'll start you on 10 so you have time to play a hole before swelling up. :shock:

If you were playing the long pads - the yellow jackets woldn't be an issue - they only like REC players. :lol:

In all seriousness - the course is being kept up by Mr. Campbell on a regular basis and will look sweet come Event day.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Last year is what he is referring to.
This years Event for the GSSS at Haywood Valley is on APRIL 14 and the Eagle Eye open is on May 20th with WES as TD.

Congrats on the sellout Keith! Looks like I got in just in time.

Just a reminder to anyone who didn't get in to GSS#2, that online registration for Dogfest 2012 is still open for the following Saturday (April 21) at Wills Park. I'll also be taking no-fee registrations at Haywood on Saturday and at Wills dubs this Wednesday and next Wednesday.

Thanks also to Wes for letting us play at his awsome course. Looking forward to playing my third tourney at Haywood this weekend! See y'all there or at Dogfest! -ChrisF

Provided as in they will be onsite with AWESOME BBQ at a reasonable price that you MAY pay if you wish to eat their food and not have to drive 1/2 hour to get food and maybe be late for your second round. :mrgreen:

Also as another thing to keep in mind is that with the new job since last OCT, I have NO computer access during the day - but I'm on usually every evening - so it may be a while from the time you post until you get a response.
If it is urgent or something you NEED to know sooner than that you can always call me, but keep in mind I only have phone access during my breaks and lunch - so you may or may not hear from me until after work around 4:30 PM.

Bush hogging and course prep has come along better than expected! For an unexpected surprise the course will be available for practice from 10:30am - 6:00pm on Friday 4/13 Please allow 2 1/2 hrs minimum to play the course. The gates will be closing at 6pm sharp, so please make sure your round is complete by 6! David Campbell will be there working on the course and will be happy to answer all questions.

Foley asked me about what I thought the hot round of 54 would be rated and I said 1020 - ends up as 1017 - not to bad - i'm really good at guessing ratings for scores at Events - if I was only good at PLAYING Events, I'd be happier. :mrgreen:

Why are the rec scores reflecting the same distance to par as the rest of the field when they played a different layout? Their round ratings are the same as the open division...example winner of rec had one round of 65 (rated 922). A person in the open division had the same total of 65, same rating, but they didn't play the exact same layout. It seems to me that the rec scores are skewing the ratings down cause it appears, per the numbers, that they played the same layout.

Anyway, just looking for some insight. Thanks again for the great event. I had a lot of fun.

Fixed - Thanks - I uploaded everything late that night and just looked at Open - so didn't notice it - it was right in the TD report -I actually now ended up being ALMOST perfect as the score comes in at 1021 - one point off my prediction. :mrgreen:
