i'll know exactly how many hours, who was first and who got the last spot on Monday.

There will be a waitlist set up as there was for the last 2 years which will have your $25 applied to the cost of the Division you are playing in if and when you are taken from the waitlist. If you sign up for the waitlist, your credit card will NOT BE charged for the remainder until you are confirmed that you would be getting in off the waitlist, and you agree that you still wish to have the spot.

The last 2 years have seen over 10 people get in from the waitlist and the Event has not ever had 72 players when we teed off, so if you wish to have a chance to play and you did not get in last night, please signup starting on MONDAY when the page is set up.

I will be doing my annual Cheesecake throw off on #11 again this year. I am looking for a worthy cause to donate the proceeds. My ideas are the GDGO or Perkerson Park. Any other? If anyone wants to donate other items to sweeten the pot (and increase the $ amount raised) please pm me.
As of right now its $2 for a chance to win a 1/4 of a pumpkin cheesecake during the two rounds on Saturday. The 4 closest to the pin win.

Thanks to CHOP for being the only Individual Event Sponsor so far!

I have not bugged anyone about individual Event Sponsorship for any of the Events this year as I know times are tough for everyone - but it is unfortunately now time to do so as for the finale there is usually 10-15 Individual hole sponsorships which goes a long way towards making up for the shortfall during the first five Series incidental fees, printing increases, paint, string, tape, etc. that gets used throughout the Series.
In the past 3 years each Individual Event usually had 5-7 Sponsors and Lake Russell had 10-15.
This year has seen only 8 TOTAL individual sponsorships in the first 5 Events plus not many CFR's have sold - about 5 in the last 2 Events - making things even more difficult.

I base the payouts and added cash for each of the 6 Events on a projected budget based on past histories sponsorships and CFR sales - but this year will have used up all 6 Events projected funds after Event 5 - leaving me needing you all to help out in any way you can so I can continue to payout as the other 22 have been paid out at 150-180% on average across all divisions and NOT at C-tier levels of 85%.

So I will bug you loyal Lake Russell and sometime GSSS patrons to do what you can.

No one - If I was holding spots, I would have offered them up BEFORE HAND - and since the Event has NEVER gone off full and 10+ people get in off the waitlist every year - I don't need to hold spots. Lol yea but my rating won't move as i haven't played in any events.... I have only played one tournament this year (my ice bowl) and i'm playing MAYBE twice a month so i'm not sure i can compete in open. These are items that the soldiers need, fighting in Afghanistan. My son Adam is attached to the 172nd Infantry Brigade and they are at a Combat Operation Base 20 miles from the Pakistani boarder living in insane conditions. It looks as though the Disc Caddie Lake Russell Mansion (a Dollar thumber away from the park entrance) may have a 2 bed (2 "spots") room available. It's $60 per person for the entire weekend which includes non-alcoholic drinks (Water & Gatorade). It's a 3 bedroom house with satellite tv and a really huge swimming pool in the back yard! I'm bringing my Primo so we'll have two grills on site...

It looks as though the Disc Caddie Lake Russell Mansion (a Dollar thumber away from the park entrance) may have a 2 bed (2 "spots") room available. It's $60 per person for the entire weekend which includes non-alcoholic drinks (Water & Gatorade). It's a 3 bedroom house with satellite tv and a really huge swimming pool in the back yard! I'm bringing my Primo so we'll have two grills on site...

That's the MAIN reason I always put all relevant info in the top /first post - because inside the thread it can get lost, but in the top /first post anytime someone looks at the thread it is the first thing seen - It's been that way from the beginning of the Series pretty much( this weekends Event is #24 in the Series!) , so in the future you can always check there first from now on.

I think they have a pretty big crowd every SAT morning at Alexander park doubles meeting at Hole 1 at 9:45 AM SHARP!

Ignore the ratings and par # for the groups with final 9 scores - it has them sorted as if it was a full round and not 9 holes - It will be corrected in official ratings when they are processed by the PDGA. Rounds under 13 holes do NOT get official ratings.

All other scores and all 3 regular rounds ratings are correct.

News and notes from a great weekend at Lake Russell!

First off thanks to everyone for showing up - except Richard Petty whose father in-law had a serious health issue [he's doing better as of SUN afternoon according to Marcus Henderson] - and Brad Hammock who was up there hoping to get in filled his spot thereby making the 12th Annual Lake Russell Open and the 4th GSSS Event there a first time full field of 72 at tee off!!

Second HUGE THANKS to Brett Porter for his help with scoring and payouts, and to Scott Prandy who when he heard that there was only 1 hole not sponsored, gave me $25 to sponsor it even though he would not get a sign. I acknowledged his generousity at the SAT players meeting and the crowd thanked him profusely for his support.

Stephen Trello got an ace on Hole 7 in the 2nd round and with no one else getting one, Stephen pocketed the 171 dollar Ace fund.

Brad Hammock shot a course Event record (don't know if it is overall course record) 42 rated unofficially at 1073 in the first round, but Josh Childs steady play earned him a 3 stroke lead going into the final 9 where he emerged with a 7 stroke victory earning $275.

Jim Corder shot a blistering 46 (1024 rated second best round of the day behind Josh) on Sunday to pull away in Pro Masters

Jason O'Herron came from 1 stroke down going into the final 9 to take a 3 stroke victory over Stephen Trello

Tommac Garrett won in a 2 hole playoff over Chad Rickel in ADV MASTERS

Darren Schatz wins his FIRST PDGA Event in INT with a 4 stroke win over Nathan Corder and Craig Hughes

David Corder form TX comes to town and takes the REC crown by 3 over Dale Hatcher

Jeremy O'Shields name was pulled from the 30 raffle tickets by Tim's significant other Courtney (hope that's spelled right) to win the basket raffle and he jumped about 5 feet off the ground and could be heard all throughout the park when his named was called.

Jay Voss raised quite a bit of money plus collected items for his son's Infantry Brigade in Afghanistan, and Chop raised around 150 bucks for "theP" with the Cheescake shootut for which for the second year I missed out on for Dawn after getting it for her the first 2 years.

Tim Ellis and Steve Nelson also had Happy Birthday sang to them by all the players SUN morning before teeing off during the 7th players meeting of the Event.

It was good to see Woody again (seriously) and others that I don't get to see but once a year at the Lake Russell Event.

Next - I would like to thank Greg Campbell, Gerrit Van Vranken and Bob Johnson for their assistance in helping me find employment so I can hopefully continue to give all of you that play a chance to be a part of the GSSS in 2012 and beyond!
