Hole 1 400 ft Par 3
Both pools tee to a basket straight ahead and slightly left
To next tee, Pool 1 turns left across gully to rubber tee pad, pool 2 turns right to flags in field.

Hole 2 525 / 450 ft Par 4 YELLOW FLAG ON TOP
Both pools tee to a basket straight ahead across the field with a slightly left dogleg on other side of gravel road.
To next tee, both Pools turn left to tee #3.

At least 10 PRO Masters are signed up so far - that is the 3rd time this year out of 5 Events - after having only 1 of the first 19 having 10 or more (13 is the record at LR in year 1) - so as a bonus - if there are more than 13 Entrants that PLAY both rounds for Event #5 I will guarantee $500 to first place in the PRO MASTERS field.

Looks like someone likes instant gratification...

Rich...although the process might look automated on the customer's side it really isn't on the tournament director's side. The TD will get a bunch of individual emails for every golfer that signed up during the day. Then the TD still has to input their data into a spreadsheet and upload it to the PDGA for you to be listed. So you being listed depends on a lot of variables. If you paid you are in...just give Keith a little time to put it up. Keith is usually on top of it though.

Everyone that signed up over the Holiday weekend was processed TUESDAY and was sent to me after 3:00 AM this morning (WEDNESDAY) and since I can't access the spreadsheets from work - they will be uploaded tonight.

Thanks for the props on my promptness Barry - it is appreciated, and I try to stay on top of it so people are aware of what is going on with each Event.

Side note to Barry and other TD's using PDGA Signup - Todd now sends you an excel spreadsheet link after your first entries are processed, so you no longer have to manually uploaded info - you just plug it into the PDGA TD Report and you can upload that to the PDGA Site and when you get new entries you just copy over the old spreadsheet and so on - it is MUCH more effecient and also with that the names are ready to just add scores to when the Event is over! :mrgreen:

Wes and I were out at the course today and the place is looking outstanding now as we went through and did more on getting ALL the fairways trimmed, and his dad will be mowing the entire property again before the Event.

The tree from 13's fairway is gone as well as the 2 middle trees from 15 (giving 3 distinct alleys) making both of those holes cleaner and not fluky anymore.

The ceilings were raised and branches overhanging high up into the fairways were cut and the view looking from the tee pads is nice and clean.

Wes is hoping to have doubles on the SUNDAY at 2pm before the Event, so people can come out to practice and check the course out. The tee signs and distances will be set up on each hole and arrows will be spray painted on the ground for ease of navigating the course.

Hole by hole descriptions are in the top post and will be the same as used at the Eagle Eye Open (Wes' Event) in May.

Any update on the course being playable the Sunday before? Are we going to be able to play it the day before also?

Only 10 spots left and if the 2 ADV Masters are willing to play PRO Masters - that will leave only 1 more PRO Master to sign up to have 1st place pay $500 in CASH!!

Tell your "OLD"er freinds this is probably the only time they will see a $500 payday for a 15 person field at a C-Tier, so don't delay! :shock:

To answer Joshua,
Yes to the Sunday before - as of now WES is planning to have it set up on the 24th for people to practice - as soon as it is in stone, I will post it here.

Since the Event will be on SAT in the AM and we both work FRI - as of now it will NOT be open on the day before - that may change also - and if it does, I will post it here.

I am planning on having the same BBQ guy that was at Wes's Event there for lunch and I "MAY" depending on weather allow a little longer lunch break so everyone can enjoy the great food.

I just realized that I posted this in the wrong topic, apologies.

Hello folks, I'm coming down from Anchorage, Alaska to Atlanta for some training and I found out about the tourney on the 30th. I'll be staying at the Courtyard Cumberland Center in Atlanta and I was hoping to get an address to this course to put in my GPS. I already signed up for this tourney yesterday on PDGA's website and I'm just trying to get more info. From what google maps tells me, I'm about an hour and 20 minutes away from Rome. I'll be in Atlanta from the 22nd to the 31st of July and I'd like to get a few rounds in before the tourney. Any help would be appreciated, thanks again.

Sean - My post 3 posts before your first post answers your question. - With this course being on Private property it is a little different than most Events on a permanent course.

Glad to see you making the trip form Alaska to play in a GSSS Event - Hopefully it will live up to your expectations.

The course, lunch on site, players packs and payouts(if you are in the top 50% of your division - should all make oyu glad you came!

Next Opportunity to play this course will be Sunday July 24. The course should be set up and ready for play by 1:00pm. Doubles sign ups will begin around 4:00pm with a 4:30 start time. Full doubles buy in will be $15.00. The course will be taken back down until the day of the PDGA GSSS#5 event (Sat. July 30). So for all that want to see it before hand this is your chance! Please remember this is a temp course and is only open for play on specified days!

As of now there are 15 PRO Masters - So A GUARANTEED $500 to first place -There is 1 1000 and 1 990 rated player, and after that except for 2 players at 901 and 910, EVERYONE else (11 players) is within 15-20 ratings points (about 2-3 throws per round on the Haywood Valley course which is about 7-8 ratings points per throw) making it a super competitive field.

Being that almost everyone has not played it much, or at all (I think my 2 total rounds rounds are the most in the MPM field) - it will be an interesting battle.

The 8 PRO Open gentlemen will still have a decent payout with over 200 added (over $850 overall) - but for the first time ever this year(so far) no double digit PRO Open and double the number of old guy PROS!

REMINDER that SUNDAY will be your ONLY chance to practice the layout for the Event as the course will be open at 1PM until 7:30 ish - and will not be setup again until EVENT Morning around 7:30 AM.

Doubles (if interested) will start at 4:30 with signups beginning at 4pm.

I have been trying to get a new course approved for the Boys and Girls Club in Dalton. This week, I got the call that everything has been approved for the installation of the course.

Now, I need everyone's help. I've spoken with Keith about this and, at the GSSS #5 event, I will have several boxes setup.

I NEED YOUR OLD DISC!!

The Boys and Girls Club has b/w 500 & 1,000 kids come through their doors each week. My goal is to get 250 disc that we can donate to the club. The guys in the 'Nooga are helping us out but I still need more.

Keith is gracious enough to let me do this at his tourney but, please direct all questions, donations, etc. my way. Keith has enough to do with running the tourney. If you're not gonna be in Rome on the 30th but you have some disc that you want to get rid of, let me know. We'll figure something out.

These kids do not care what kindof disc they throw so anything will be great.

I agree Rich, but when all of the things have been the same for 4 years and all of my Events have info EVERYWHERE and all of the info is in the first post or easy to find - it makes it pretty easy to give someone a hard time for not looking a little first before asking. :mrgreen:

Being an old guy who grew up before cell phones, the internet, and all the instant gratification that everyone EXPECTS now - I always still look first before asking if I don't know something, so I tend to get feisty with others (playfully of course) which is I why I added what you kids call emoticons that SMILE BIG and the end of sentences that are joking in nature.

All of the long time GSSS followers know how I am and how I will respond to posts, and sometimes they'll jump in and be all nice before I can answer to keep these kinds of situations from happening. :mrgreen:

Hopefully in the future if you still wish to play in any GSSS Events, you'll be the guy laughing when someone asks the silly already answered question - and you can respond "Keith would be an ass if he responded", so let me post the answer for you before he has a chance to see your question. :shock:

More later as I have to have my van towed home after the engine siezed up on the drive home about half way. It had 179,000 miles of disc golf on it, and it was a tank for 10 years.
Sad to see it maybe be junked.

Wes and Wes's dad stopped to help, and his father drove us home.

Huge thanks to the Campbell family for letting us play Disc Golf in their "backyard".

Thanks to everyone who showed up to play, congrats to Riley for his first PDGA win in Open.

Anyone have a cheap van or car for sale?
I'm serious, as I need to get one and if I can help out a fellow golfer, I'd like to do that.
