Chamblee Fundraiser Tournament

Players can register Saturday morning 8am - 9am

When: Saturday June 25th, 2011
Check in at 9:00am, Play starts at 10:00am
Second round one hour after last card is turned in.

What: Non-Sanctioned Amateur tournament. Intermediate, Recreation, and Woman’s division only.
Disc Caddie will be onsite handling payout and selling discs. Limited to 44 players due to it being a 9 hole course.
There will be 2 temp holes added so we will play 11 holes twice from different tees. Two rounds total of 22 holes. Par 66.

Why: To play the only permanent course inside the perimeter and to raise money for course upkeep and improvements.
Also, to play the new third set of tee's for each hole.

How: $20 per player. $10 goes to payout. $10 goes to course.

I got approval from the Church last week to put in another set of tee markers for each hole. Black tee markers should be added to the course by tournament time. I'm also trying to sell the idea of using rubber mats for all the holes.


Here are the hole lengths. All but two of the black tees are longer. These arent the pitch and putt holes like everyone might think. They arent super long but with all roads and parking lots OB it can be very challenging. Come check it out June 25th.

must we pre-register? filling out a form and mailing a check makes this tourney kind of hard to sign up for...i really want to play but i'm an inherently lazy disc golfer...are you ok with us showing up the day of with our $20?...if so then count me in

Yeah it's tricky...It's basically too late to mail a check, plus I'm lazy, and with day of registration and a 44 player cap...that could cause some issues.
But I plan to be there

Make sure to come out early as it will sell out quickly with the small field available.

Disc Caddie will be out there for the entire day for both payout and some retail deals ONLY for those that come out to play the event.

And how much of the field is getting a payout?

Only paved roads, the creek and all parking lots are out of bounds. I will have a sheet that lists all ob per hole. The payout is based on how many people show.

For those of us who haven't been there before? Do you have a course map with parking/streets so we can find way around?
I'm getting my car worked on tomorrow at Jim Ellis, and thought I'd walk over to the course and play a round, but I'm not sure where to start.

That shule on 7 is gone now, but otherwise billnchristy's pic is mostly accurate. New tee box markers have been installed this week, and some of them are slightly moved from the old locations. Sad that I'm missing this. I have a lot of fun playing at this course, and the new black locations have added more variety.

Congrats to Craig for organizing a great tournament which is tough especially when you have to work with multiple groups and people to make it happen. Nearly $500 was raised to put into the course which is an excellent course for people to learn on. I saw a number of players that haven't played anywhere but and they have great skills after working that course!

*Plus a big thanks to all the sponsors. It really helped make the payout strong for just a 30 person tournament. We brought in a total of $950. $475 to payout and $475 to course improvements. We hope to see the improvements in the next few weeks. Looking to get tee signs first then hopefully getting tee markers for the longers tees that were played. Then hopefully tee pads. There is also a slim chance of adding 9 more holes past hole 7 by the boy scout house. We will see.

I know it has been over year but I finally got approval from the church to install tee signs. Andrew did the artwork for the signs and we have a Boy Scout troop installing them.
