Feb. 19, 2011: 4th Annual Oregon Park Ice Bowl

The Cobb Disc Golf Club is hosting the 4th Annual Oregon Park Ice Bowl on February 19, 2011.

All proceeds will go to MUST Ministries, a nonprofit charity organization in the community that provides food and shelter to the needy. We will be collecting food as well as cash donations. Our goals are 200lbs. of food and $1000-1500.

MUST Ministries has given us some food donation guidelines: please bring spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, flour, baking mixes, canned pasta, soup, cereal, macaroni & cheese, jelly, dry beans, rice, canned beans, canned vegetables (except green beans), and canned meat.

For every food item you bring, you will receive a fun ticket that can be used against an opponent during the rounds of play!

Sign-in will start at 8:00am. There will be a Players' Meeting at 9:30am, and the first round will begin at 10:00am. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch between the first and second rounds.

We will have 3 divisions: Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginners. Registration for all divisions will be $25. The first 65 people to register will receive a custom-stamped Ice Bowl disc. You can register in person at one of our weekly doubles events on Tuesday or Thursday nights at Oregon Park, or online via Paypal through our website at http://cobbdiscgolf.com.

I'll ask our TD, Nick, what his plans are, but if I had to guess I would say probably some of both. What people are calling NOP is in a state of partial installation until we get final approval from the county, but until then about 12 of the baskets are in the ground and playable without any problems that I'm aware of. I would be surprised if we didn't incorporate most or all of them into our layout. But again without asking our TD I'm only speculating.

Another option would be to wait until the day of the event, but you might miss out on getting one of our 65 Ice Bowl custom stamped discs.

Also our TD is going to mail out a copy of the Ice Bowl merchandise price list to the CDGC members who are on the CDGC mailing list. Be on the lookout for that.
