Lenora Ace Race - October 2nd

The Lenora Ace Race is being held to raise money for landscaping on the Lenora course.

2 rounds of (at least) 27 hole ace runs. Plus...

It's $25 for the ace race part and chump change for the other stuff.

You'll need to pre-register, so either mail me a check (pm for details) or sign up online for an extra buck.

If you are planning on attending this, please sign up in the next few days. We'll have to order the player's packs in a couple of weeks at the latest. We don't plan on ordering many extra ones, so please do register if you want to participate.

The weather is perfect, the smell of fall is in the air, and the ch-ching of aces will be heard all over Lenora! It's only 2 weeks away, time to sign up!

The layout makes good use of the limited trees at Lenora. It should be a fun day.

Still time to sign up. Please do so before Friday at 6:00PM if you want to ensure your spot.

We will have about 40 open spots on Saturday morning for people that didn't register online. First Come First Served on those... You can call me that morning at 218-209-2627 if you want to see how many are left.

Players will be sent out from hole 1 in groups starting at 9AM.
There will be 2 rounds and you'll be able to start your second round right away, or take a break.
Groups will be sent out for the second round as soon as there are enough players for a group.

Technically, you can start your rounds anytime before 2PM, but I expect most people will run through them in the morning.

We will be having some other small contests and some prizes will be given to winners of "divisions" as well. There are some discs, shirts, a jacket/hat set, and other misc stuff for winners of Recreational, Women's and Juniors divisions.

The winner of the Women's Recreational level division and the Juniors division will win entry into the Gwinnett County Open.

Remember, all the proceeds from this go into landscaping on the course. We probably can't make Lenora a championship caliber course, but we can add some interest to it.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by format.

The Ace Race format of play is 1 shot at each basket, A for ace, M for hitting but not sinking. Most Aces wins, with most M's being a tie breaker.

The layout can be seen at gdgo.org (though it may be tweaked somewhat as we set it up).

Had a great time today Gerrit!. The ace race was a lot more fun than I expected.

Brad Traylor wins the first Lenora Ace Race with 2 aces. Both in his second round!

Other aces were Mike Mckennon, Alan Feta and 15 year-old Roy Clackum Jr..

Brad walked away with the Discraft Prize pack including a tournament bag and 8 discs!.

Roy Clackum Jr and Josiah Bennet both won entries into the Gwinnett County Open.
