Agreed. Will it still be 3 rounds or only 2? If only 2 why not have both rounds on Saturday and save us all some more money?

I may still do (depending on feedback) ADV Divisions along with the PROS as a 3 day A-Tier and the other AM Divisions as a 2 day - since most if not all of the ADV players are already current.
That's also why I'm going to contact everyone and see what the ADV players want to do.
Either way it will still be NO FRIDAY golf for the INT and REC divisions for sure.

Lake Russell will be my last Int tourney.Come on Keith.. i want a Friday tee time!

Yes - that's one of the reasons for having the AM'S as a B-tier - so that there aren't REC's playing in an A-tier, and alot of players not wanting to play 3 days on that layout, but wanting to play are REC players - and REC players also are more likely to NOT be PDGA members.

Nice list of players there Keith. We haven't seen this many high caliber players since the NT came through. Well done on growing the tournament scene here in GA. Wish I could play.

Correct - once you have passed the only mando, you may choose any route to the basket.
I'ts better though if you make the Mando AND stay in bounds.

You'll have to ask Rand - but I will never run one at REEdan because even though I love the course (as of the last time I saw it 2 years ago) I wouldn't want to or need to deal with the whining if I set it up in way people wouldn't like - so I leave REEdan to the REEdan area players to host their Events their way and when that does happen again, I'll come play there.

You mean like how EVERY Event that used to be at REEdan was done?
Pre-tournament that makes sense and there is no reason not to accommodate a TD's wish that his tournament info not be lost(or fogged over) by extraneous posts. Post-tournament, the progression of topics should be left to whatever happens. The information protected by the splitting off of off topic posts is moot.keith johnson wrote:Woody - I have been splitting non Event posts from EVERYONES Event threads from Day 1 when the Td has asked for it to be done - I asked and I moved - so policy is being followed
I merely un-split what you had split, thus correcting your inappropriate action. Whatever those post were, it is not your opinion alone that matters. As moderators, we are expected and limited to action based on ADGO policy. Granted, each of our opinions factors in to that, but the guidelines we have established are in place to guide us in taking action.keith johnson wrote:- when I split the thread which YOU deleted out of the REEdan thread I might add - calling the kettle black - those 2 posts did not make sense as what they were referring to was still in the original thread - so I deleted them.
And I will un-split them again as long as there is no valid reason such as a policy violation that calls for a split. It has nothing to do with what I may or may not promote. Randy posted a map of Redan as a suggestion for an alternate venue based on the 'chatter' already posted. I did the same. Just because you think I may have ulterior motives doesn't make it so. You seem to have a bias against anything Redan. Notice I said "seem to". No reason to defend yourself or define your issue; we all know it and see it in every post you make about it. That's your opinion and I respect that. But when you demonstrate that by deleting every reference to Redan from a thread not specific to a Redan topic, you are stepping over the line and abusing your moderator privilege. This thread is not 'yours' to manipulate as YOU see fit. It belongs to the community and this community controls its destiny as long as no policy is violated. Few other TDs are in the position(as a moderator) to split topics or delete posts that affect the thread for their tournaments. Like I said above; when the event is over, how the thread progresses is no longer limited to tournament specific topics and is left to the community. It is not a moderator's(or TD's) position to force any restrictions on where the topic goes from there.keith johnson wrote:I will split them again- so please do NOT mess with any of the Event threads to use your words" based on personal whimsy". to change it to what you want to promote.
In no way could any sane person consider my posts of two maps of alternate layouts for Redan to be spam. I haven't promoted anything by doing so. True, something may become of it. But it hasn't happened yet. You think Randy's post of a Redan map is spam as well? For what purpose? He could have simply suggested Redan without providing a pic. But we all know he rarely submits a post without some sort of photo and we all usually appreciate that. True, the event forum is there for event information but is not restricted to that. I think your position as GA State Coordinator and as a moderator has you in a conflict. In one way, you'd like to see the chief venue for your information restricted to event information only. As moderator you can make that happen. What you need to see is that as a moderator, you have a responsibility to the ADGO community that is separate from your desires as State Coordinator and should not act beyond the bounds of that restriction.keith johnson wrote:You can spam your stuff everywhere you want except Event threads as that's where people go for information - not your Spam.
Maybe, but pertinent to ADGO policy of no censorship within adopted policy.billnchristy wrote:High school drama without the cute chicks in skirts.

I know I'm not everyone's favorite nor would I want to be.
See purple text above.keith johnson wrote:All I've ever done is want to run the best Events I know how to, and help those who wish to have help with their Events (like Rand and others I've helped at the Events I've played in) and just be a player at the other Events I play.

As I've seen recently, all GSSS tournaments are locked into dates before anyone else has a chance to submit their dates. I think this is a conflict of being State Coordinator as well as a TD. It's not very fair to other TD's when spots are locked in before anyone else has time to plan. Not trying to rag you Keith, but you have to admit that your inside hookup is playing into your plans. Please don't come back with the "If you get your events sanctioned earlier" argument. I'm sure Mashburn has something to add. I think it's time to consider changing from 6 events to 3. It was a good idea a few years ago, but now it is oversaturating the GA tournament scene. Just my 2 cents and, of course, I respect what you do but don't always agree with it.
