2nd Annual Forsyth County Open @ Central Park will be on August 11th, 2007!!!

now you have 10 months to get signed up, i'll do the every 10 person signup deal again(over $250 in merch was given out JUST FOR SIGNING UP )

you know the payouts will be GREAT!!!, and i'll even go out on a limb now and say if we get at least 25 open players i'll guarantee a minimum $1000 to first place!!!!

Can you move the white tees forward a few feet on #5 so one might actually take a bit of a run up? When the pin is in the short position, the short run-up is no big deal - when the pin is long a little space is needed.

i rarely see any of you guys at CP, so here's a great opportunity to play a fun, challenging course and only dedicate 1 day of your weekend for a PDGA C-Tier event.

if you look at pool 2 tees you'll see a mixture of red and white........

NO ONE is playing all 1 color tees......

didn't play 1 color last year, won't be at this year or ANY year i run an event.....any of the 1 color only tees suck at both courses that have colored tees

Let me address each situation: A. I couldn't afford to buy any game because I spent a fortune on discs before dubs, 2nd, it wasn't like "I" decided on my own and twisted the other chicks arms to play a different format. first of all...bootsie DOES NOT speak for me or my events

second...if people would read the flyer and the posts i make....bootsie's post would have been ignored....

thirdly......NO WHERE do i specify any #'s for any divisions....it is, has been and will be 81 TOTAL spots as it has been since day 1....

i have been promoting, pushing, talking, and reminding open players relentlessly since day 1 back in october of 2006 when i made the flyer that it was first 81 paid players in (it's even in red on the flyer)....and i was not holding 25 "open" spots....it has been totally up to the open players to make it the payout they want....if you look i also have a guaranteed minimum payout of 500 bucks if it reached 12 players (also in red) to encourage the group that is ALWAYS (even nationally, not just here) the slowest group to sign up for events....

yes the open players are signing up now as well as lots of others who after 9 months magically "just heard about it".....

at EVERY tournament in georgia i've played, i've badgered the players, and handed out flyers so much that they just tell me to shut up already about it

anyone of the 56 players that were there last year can tell you more about how the experience was than i can, and they can also tell you that i'm a MUCH BETTER TD than i am a disc golf player...i pretty much make up for my crappy game with my tournaments....

so i hope everyone that wants to play gets in...everyone that misses out signs up earlier next year and most of all everyone has a good time playing the game i love and put my heart and soul into...

as i posted last night...ya gotta learn to read et....

3 of the 7 were in today's mail, plus 4 others, so we are UNOFFICIALLY FULL!!!!

several people at hotlanta filled out forms and then were paid with checks and not cash, so therefore they could not give me cash...i granted those players and 2 more i'll see at wills the courtesy of mailing their checks in....
whatever shows up first will add "stars" to the names, and if any come in that are not on the list by tuesday of next week they will REMOVE "non-starred names" from the list....as it is only fair....it has been 5 valid mailing days since hotlanta ended which is plenty of time to get a check to me....(unless you are me sending a check to pnut which took 6 days from postmark, which is why i'm giving until tuesday - 8 mailing days)


PLEASE DO NOT MAIL ANYTHING AFTER WEDNESDAY AUGUST 1ST!!!!!!!!

i picked up the programs and tee signs today, and made out the labels for the score cards and round cards.... the discs will be headed this way from innova and discraft, so by wed 8/8 i'll have all the players packs done and be ready to rock and roll on friday 8/10 at doubles....

I'm upset because there are 81 names on the list and some people haven't paid. I get shuffled off to an "unofficial waiting list" even though I HAVE paid. This is not only not fair but very unprofessional.

The names that haven't paid should be removed and the names that HAVE paid should take their place.

I need to know if I need to request a half day off next Friday to attend the doubles. My employer likes more than just a few days notice.

Enjoy the woods holes while you can because some idiots have been smoking illegal stuff and leaving behind beer cans and the park is tired of the shanigans! The park is forcing Jason to pull all nine holes in the woods for 2 months. They were going to be pulled before FCO2 but Jason and Terry had to pursuade them to let us have them for the tournament. If you can please call Matt Pate (at the Park and Rec dept) and try to talk some sense into him so that these few people do not ruin it for the rest of us. Jason has told us repeatedly that this type of activity was not allowed and now the park is enforcing punishment. If this continues we will lose all 27 holes!! This is not a joke, this was told to us in the players meeting before doubles today. Alot of blood, sweat and tears has gone into this beautiful course and if you enjoy it as much as the rest of us than call the Park and Rec dept and let them know.

my tournaments for all 12 years i have been a td(since 1996) have always been the same..players packs to all, 100% of all ladies will cash/merch and 50% of the field in all other divisions will cash/merch....i have always believed in taking care of the players that support my events....long before the pdga "wished or semi-mandated it"....for different tiers....it is why even though the event has been a c-tier for 2 years and does not require players packages for ANYONE....i payout over b-tier requirements and provide lunch for free...(no pb&j by the way,sorry if you were looking for that )

lunch will be veggie, cheese, and different meat topped pizza's

signups will start at 4:15 pm
the goal is to start at 5pm with draw at 4:50pm and last signups at 4:45 pm.....i will only be able to stay until 9 pm

we'll play pool 1 layout

$5 per person 100% paid back out

it will run tomorrow, saturday morning until 9 am, at lunch break, and for 1/2 hour or so after the 2nd round saturday.....drawing for winner will take place AFTER awards ceremony, and you MUST be present to win and you can take it home!!!

only 6 people dropped out total and everyone finished at least 20 holes the first round in 100 degree temps.....

for the second year in a row, the event was held on one of only about 4 days a year with ZERO wind....making the heat even worse.....

for those of you hoping for an fco 3......you need to make your calls to the parks office to help do what you can to get the woods holes reinstated....those holes help define the tournament layout and without them, i will not run an event there, as the 18 holes (although they have some diffficulty if set properly), will not make for a challenging layout on their own as evidenced by the way they got torn up at the atlanta open.....

if there is an fco 3........the first 25 entries i receive had better all be open players....and i'll say right now that if we hit 30 open players i'll make first place a GUARANTEED $1500 first place payout!!!!

so lets get the woods holes back and get 29 of your friends to sign up when the flyer comes out and lets see who doesn't believe in '08

the offer is on the table.....are you going to keep whining about something you have no knowledge of, or are you gonna gather all your pals and make the event great!

for the rest of the crap I know that chuck had a huge impact on getting the course in at sandy creek.
And the fact that he only promotes to am players is a good thing.
I also have seen all the effort that he has put in at victor lord and hurricane shoals; I wish that some others would come forward and speak up on his behalf

Numbers speak for themselves.

Most of the tournaments in Georgia sell out early.... All except those run by Chuck.

People know to stay away from his tournaments. He has a handful of people who play his tournaments and thats it.

Those of us who play alot and travel do not play Chucks tournaments.

Let Chuck and his buddies have their little fun, the rest of us will play in the "real" sanctioned tournaments.

i've never played any of Chuck's tourney's but i heard they're the worst run events to be involved with, and most of the bad stuff i've heard has come from barney players, if you can't keep the noobs happy, no wonder no one else wants to play at Shule city...btw..i played C Michael Herman, and that place is utter bullcrap, by far the worst disc golf course i've stepped foot on in the state

Keith did give mad props to Jason before and after the tourney. Reading is a skill that is sadly lacking in today's youth.

I've played Herman C Michael also. I found it to be quite fun and somewhat challenging. The woods holes are tight and tough, the open holes are short and fun. I don't believe that Chuck had anything to do with this course, just my opinion.
As far as Chucks tournaments go, they seem pretty smooth. He's burned a lot of bridges and pissed off most of the serious tournament players in Georgia. Thats why they don't fill up. His last tournament at Hurricane Shule had 4-5 people in advanced and John Ritger left there with a basket for winning.
He supports Am's because he knows they are the future of the sport. No offense to Keith or my Pro friends but he had to beg enough Pros to play so the payout would be better. Historically the am side fills up a lot faster.
I don't support Chuck or the way he goes about doing things. You can tell what courses he has a hand in and which ones he doesn't. Personally I don't think he had anything to do with Sandy Creek. That course was professionally installed by people that know disc golf. No shule baskets, no baskets in the shule, no tee signs stapled to used plywood, no ankle breaking teepads.
New courses are great. Wasting time, land, and pocketing resources isn't. We will never see eye to eye on this subject. Professionally ran PDGA sanctioned tournaments will continue to thrive. Chuck installing a course a week will continue to happen. I say let him shoot himself in the foot.

P.S. If you're all about the am's in Georgia, then why not run a PDGA sanctioned all am tournament. The Georgia Amateur Open? Chris Jaskolka has one every year in Huntsville. It always fills up and he has the best payout I've seen. He and Keith are fighting for the title.

sorry jay you are a little off with that statement......begging pro's to play DOES NOT make the payout better....it makes it better for the PRO PLAYERS....the added money was the same whether there was 9 like last year or 22 like this year....i said over and over it was up to the pros to get the # they needed to get the 1000 dollars first place CASH, they didn't and still had a hell of a payday anyways....

by the way....the ams had a 195% PAYBACK also, which goes against your(jay) and chucks theory that i don't care about ams......that's why i also ran am worlds....cuz i HATE ams.... (sorry chuck hates when i bring up other events i've run)

the ams filled up the field as fast as they wanted to which is why i don't cap #'s in divisions or hold X number of pro spots for my events....81 total....i don't care if it's ALL AMS....
wes is the only one who loses money (as payout guy) for every pro that plays, i give players packages to everyone so that cost the same whether it's 81 ams ,81 pros or a mix.....

here you go chuck.......you want to know what players got, you gotta ask them because i handed them a bag that had 1 of the following discs in it....i don't know what the adv masters got...the 9 of them might have gotten 9 different discs,the packages weren't separated by divisions.....just 81 packages in a box that was handed out 1 by 1 as they checked in.....

I must say that Keith put on a top notch event, it was far better than any one day tournament I have ever played in. the payout was the best I have seen for a C or B tier. I can't beleive that more Pros didnt show up, oh wait we are in GA yes I can.

Unless you are contributing to the betterment of the tournament or complementing Keith's hard work as the TD go back to doing whatever it is that you are so proud of. Why does things always have to turn into a bad episode of WWE? With that said, Chuck you do great things, but self promotion has a negative affect on your positive efforts. Keep up the good work and know that you are making a difference instead of having to know that everyone knows. I have played in some of your events and enjoyed doing so. I can't figure out why you are so pissed off at Pros. The last Hurricane tournament seemed to go well, where did all of your anger come from?
