now for some of the MUCH MORE....

i will have the (used to be only available as CFR)---CHAMPION WRAITHS!!!
there are only 50 available for purchase, hot stamped with the tournament name and date, and they are the same discs you used to have to pay $25 dollars for.....
now you can get them for only $13 each, 2 for $25, or 3 for $36 (which is LESS THAN YOU CAN BUY THEM for regular price)
you can order them by email, pm or when you see me at doubles or events...

you get to support the event and have a great disc to keep in your bag....

keep tuned for more info as we are only 6 & 1/2 weeks away....

don't forget to get your entries in as it is almost 1/2 full already....there will be no more than 81 players (no 4somes!)

chuck doesn't remember last year!

Postby keith johnson » Thu Jul 05, 2007 9:40 pm

the same as it is for anyone(am or pro) who enters, whatever they want to choose from..

last year was tourny stamped star rhyno's, tourny stamped first run skeeters or the innova beanie's, or they could exchange any of those for any of 7 different models of colormax elite z discraft discs

this years stuff will be unique also...

plus since you forgot to ask what you get for each 10 entries , i'll tell you what people got last year

1st 10 winner...bite shoes 90 bucks
2nd 10 any 4 custom colormax,or inncolor discs of THEIR choice 80-100(depending on models chosen)
3rd 10 any 3 of above 60-75 (depending on models chosen)
4th 10 any 2 of above 40-50 (depending on models chosen)
5th 10 any 1 of above.....20-25 (depending on model chosen)

just for signing up on top of their players package....

by the way chuck...didn't you ask me the same questions last year?
did you not believe what i posted last year?
why don't you come see for yourself or ask anyone who was there last year.....since we don't have access to last years message board posts at the moment

i've been running tournaments for 11 years now, and i almost know what i'm doing...maybe a few more years and i'll have it down

now you just have to get you and the rest of your open friends signed up before it sells out so the 500 for first (min 12 open) or 1000 (min 25 open)
doesn't get missed by you guys!

Can you move the white tees forward a few feet on #5 so one might actually take a bit of a run up? When the pin is in the short position, the short run-up is no big deal - when the pin is long a little space is needed.

Just a suggestion - sounds like a cool layout...

ATTTENTION ADVANCED GRANDMASTERS!

Postby ET » Thu Jul 19, 2007 12:02 pm

hey, all you advanced grandmasters in the surrounding metro, how about signing up?

i rarely see any of you guys at CP, so here's a great opportunity to play a fun, challenging course and only dedicate 1 day of your weekend for a PDGA C-Tier event.

Cannon, Jacob, McEntire, McCurry, LaPerre, Armour, Parrot, Jones, Sommer and others. C'Mon over and let's have some fun!

....and TD Keith, cut the adv. gms some slack and let us throw the shorter tees this year (lol). my knees still haven't recovered from the 2 rounds of 27 long from last year! if we throw long tees again this year, i'm gonna' have to borrow a pack burro from gomez.

bob........
already ahead of you on 5

et....
i was gonna ask gm's and adv women at the event for preferences, but i'm inclined for flow to have both those divisions be in pool 2 anyways...

i don't care which way the players choose....as long as everyone has a good time

you threw long tees last time because you ended up in the pro grandmasters ,thereby putting you in the pro pool

i look forward to hopefully seeing more of your gm friends signing up!

Postby keith johnson » Thu Jul 19, 2007 10:25 pm

if you look at pool 2 tees you'll see a mixture of red and white........

NO ONE is playing all 1 color tees......

didn't play 1 color last year, won't be at this year or ANY year i run an event.....any of the 1 color only tees suck at both courses that have colored tees

by my count there are 16 red tees and 11 white tees in pool 2....

i'll forgive you for not reading after the beat down dave douglas and i gave you at roswell

Let me address each situation: A. I couldn't afford to buy any game because I spent a fortune on discs before dubs, 2nd, it wasn't like "I" decided on my own and twisted the other chicks arms to play a different format. It was brought up by someone in the group and I was like ok, whatever. Sorry, It was my first PDGA tournament. I know better now. Lesson Learned, move on, nothing to see here!! Now lets go back to talking about pounding eachother in the powerline cut!

Why do the Open players love to sign up late and then bitch when there are not enough spots "reserved" for them and their all powerful game?

Just Another Intermediate Player...

Postby The Artist » Thu Jul 26, 2007 5:48 pm

Can another Intermediate Player join?? I would play Open but my rating is only in the 850's so it would be a massacre.

Central is my home park and I moved to Dahlonega so I don't get many chances to play disc golf there anymore.

Keith, I PM'd you on ET's id about this. Please let me know if you are or are not accepting any more Intermediate players. I can send my check on August 1st when I get paid.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

first of all...bootsie DOES NOT speak for me or my events

second...if people would read the flyer and the posts i make....bootsie's post would have been ignored....

thirdly......NO WHERE do i specify any #'s for any divisions....it is, has been and will be 81 TOTAL spots as it has been since day 1....

i have been promoting, pushing, talking, and reminding open players relentlessly since day 1 back in october of 2006 when i made the flyer that it was first 81 paid players in (it's even in red on the flyer)....and i was not holding 25 "open" spots....it has been totally up to the open players to make it the payout they want....if you look i also have a guaranteed minimum payout of 500 bucks if it reached 12 players (also in red) to encourage the group that is ALWAYS (even nationally, not just here) the slowest group to sign up for events....

yes the open players are signing up now as well as lots of others who after 9 months magically "just heard about it".....

at EVERY tournament in georgia i've played, i've badgered the players, and handed out flyers so much that they just tell me to shut up already about it

anyone of the 56 players that were there last year can tell you more about how the experience was than i can, and they can also tell you that i'm a MUCH BETTER TD than i am a disc golf player...i pretty much make up for my crappy game with my tournaments....

so i hope everyone that wants to play gets in...everyone that misses out signs up earlier next year and most of all everyone has a good time playing the game i love and put my heart and soul into...

Look at the pdga.com website, Keith is very quick updating the registered players list.

keith also updates THIS board after the pdga site as shown below...17 hours before lep asked the question

11 total spots left and 6 open players needed......don't wait!!!

this will fill by this weekend, and i'll be at worlds next week so i will update the list if i can from wisconsin and have the waiting list going also...

i want to thank everyone that has entered and i PROMISE you won't be disappointed in showing up at this event!

keith

if people are on the waiting list the smart thing to do would be to show up ready as if you are gonna play saturday morning as so far this year in every ga event, people have gotten in off the wait list because someone did not show up...

if anyone does NOT get in OFF THE WAITLIST ONLY!!! i will give you your entry back at that time or mail it back to you if you are not there

13 players listed as "signed up" do not have an asterisk (*) by their name. 'sup with that?

...keith, is the new innova surprise the new Homer "D'OH!" vice-grip driver?

ONLY 7 SPOTS REMAIN!!!!

i have had 7 people tell me that their checks are in the mail that are NOT on the list...

how many of them are open players??
who will be first on the waitlist??
will the people who filled out entries at hotlanta that ARE ON the list get to play???

as i posted last night...ya gotta learn to read et....

3 of the 7 were in today's mail, plus 4 others, so we are UNOFFICIALLY FULL!!!!

several people at hotlanta filled out forms and then were paid with checks and not cash, so therefore they could not give me cash...i granted those players and 2 more i'll see at wills the courtesy of mailing their checks in....
whatever shows up first will add "stars" to the names, and if any come in that are not on the list by tuesday of next week they will REMOVE "non-starred names" from the list....as it is only fair....it has been 5 valid mailing days since hotlanta ended which is plenty of time to get a check to me....(unless you are me sending a check to pnut which took 6 days from postmark, which is why i'm giving until tuesday - 8 mailing days)

PLEASE DO NOT MAIL ANYTHING AFTER WEDNESDAY AUGUST 1ST!!!!!!!!

keep an eye on the list and even though i'll be in wisconsin i will update the list after speaking with dawn every evening to see what arrived in the mail...

the OFFICIAL wait list will start when there are 81 * on the list

hope that clears it up for everyone....

Postby keith johnson » Sat Jul 28, 2007 12:26 am

i picked up the programs and tee signs today, and made out the labels for the score cards and round cards.... the discs will be headed this way from innova and discraft, so by wed 8/8 i'll have all the players packs done and be ready to rock and roll on friday 8/10 at doubles....

all pre-registered players that can make it are encouraged to pick up their players package friday so that on sat morn we just have to have you sign in on your scorecard and you'll be good to go!!! :D

You young guns can count one more old man in the party. I'm moving up. Now you just need to work on the other 4 to get to 25 open players.

The official cutoff time has passed for reserved names that haven't paid. I am just dying to know if I made it in. That way I can plan to be @ Friday Dubs.

Can we get an updated list of the players that have paid? :)

Thanks,

Folks, bear in mind that Keith is at the Worlds this week in Wisconsin. If your questions or pm's don't get answered that is why. He is away from his computer and probably won't be able to answer FCO2 questions until Sunday night or early Monday.

HEADS UP EVERYONE--The RED bench right behind the RED tee on 18 has become a RED wasp nest. Noticed it today during a practice round.

Keith, I'm sure the park staff is already busy making the course look great for next weekend, but do you think they could possibly look into eradicating the little pests before then?

Btw, great layout! Can't wait.

2.5 days and still no updates?

Postby The Artist » Fri Aug 03, 2007 9:45 am

ADGO President and Members,

It states clearly in your constitution:

"Maintain high standards of excellence in promoting and managing competitive disc golf events."

Is it really too much to ask for an update on the list of (*) paid participants?

Do you have to be an ADGO member to get answers/updates?

I think it was Benjamin Franklin that said:

'The punishment for not participating in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.'

Give me a break! Someone just update the list or call Keith and have him update it. People are tired of waiting! The longer I wait the 'more colorful' my posts will get and the worse my attitude will be on Friday and Saturday. :x

Keith is currently at the Pro Worlds and he is the TD.

What exactly are you looking for and why are you so pissed off?

Are you still for hire?

Phil waited to send his money in and now he's on the waiting list. So, I guess he's mad at Keith because he didn't get his entry in early enough?

I talked to Keith last night and he has no cell signal and there's one computer in Highbridge that everyone is using. Just as I mentioned before, he will update the list Monday.

BTW, this is not an ADGO issue. This event is not run by the ADGO. But, as an ADGO board member, I have given you the scenario as to why the TD cannot update the information. It's the best I can do.

Yes Keith is at the Worlds but if he wasn't going to be able to update the list he shouldn't have said he would. Period!

"keep an eye on the list and even though i'll be in wisconsin i will update the list after speaking with dawn every evening to see what arrived in the mail..."

I'm upset because there are 81 names on the list and some people haven't paid. I get shuffled off to an "unofficial waiting list" even though I HAVE paid. This is not only not fair but very unprofessional.

The names that haven't paid should be removed and the names that HAVE paid should take their place.

I need to know if I need to request a half day off next Friday to attend the doubles. My employer likes more than just a few days notice.

That is all.

Yes Grease you are correct. I waited to send my money in until the very last second just so I could cause a commotion. please

The fact is that my check has already been received. Names on the list of 81 that have no (*) haven't paid so they should not have a position reserved on the list.

Clunck, carrier pigeon.

Phil, I am just trying to explain why Keith is unable at this point to update the list. He said he was going to try to do it while he is at the World's but he simply can't. No one else can update the list. As far as I know, you are third on the waiting list and some people have dropped out, so you might be okay.

Thanks for your reply Grease.

I understand Keith is busy at Worlds. I understand that there is only one computer and thousands of people at the Worlds so it is probably really hard to get on the computer for 5 minutes to update threads.

He never mentioned he would "try" to update the list. He actually said "i will update the list"...

If I am not playing in the tournament I guess I am not playing in the tournament. Not much I can do about that except send my money in earlier next year.

In the future; however, it would be nice to see *only* lists of people who *have* paid and not people who said they *plan* to pay. I don't think that was very fair and I am not the only one who feels this way.

I am just the only one who will speak up.

dude you need to ease up. if keith has traveled all the way to the worlds, then i'm guessing it might be a little more important than updating a list for a few days.

since the list hasnt been updated, maybe all those people without an * have sent their money in too. all i'm saying is that Keith has put a hell of a lot of work into this and you had 10 MONTHS to pre reg. He shouldnt have to break his back to update a stupid list.

ITS REAL SIMPLE, IF YOU SENT YOUR MONEY IN BEFORE IT WAS FULL THEN YOU ARE IN, if not then its your fault you are left in the dark.

not trying to be a d***, but you shouldnt act like one either

I sent Keith a PM to be moved to the open division. Why am I not on the list, this is unacceptable. If I don't get on that list I won't get a chance to mop up Central Park with Bootsie's ass. I want answers now................ You people are so un-professional. I mean 10 months was not long enough for me to make up my mind and send in some money.

1) Wasp issues resolved. Today it looks like all the red benches have been filled up with some sort of spackeling goop. Man that was easy. Careful where you park it just in case.

2) <insert witty anecdote about prima donna pros and signing up at the last minute>

leave the ADGO out of the tournament please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the adgo has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS EVENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

posted earlier in july after hotlanta:

"several people at hotlanta filled out forms and then were paid with checks and not cash, so therefore they could not give me cash...i granted those players and 2 more i'll see at wills the courtesy of mailing their checks in....
whatever shows up first will add "stars" to the names, and if any come in that are not on the list by tuesday of next week they will REMOVE "non-starred names" from the list....as it is only fair....it has been 5 valid mailing days since hotlanta ended which is plenty of time to get a check to me....(unless you are me sending a check to pnut which took 6 days from postmark, which is why i'm giving until tuesday - 8 mailing days)"

i wasn't "holding" any spots....those people and myself did NOT know they were getting paid with checks

phil..i said i would update the list and it is....i don't know if i've ever met you, but what part of being in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone coverage or computer access do you NOT understand......i understand what you are quoting, but i was also told there would be computer access up here, (which is why i posted that i would be updating it) and it is VERY LIMITED.... and as others have posted here, updating the list for the fco2 event is not priority 1 right now, playing is/was......now that i've wrecked my right knee and my chances of cashing, my thoughts are turning back to making YOU and only YOU happy.......

look at the pdga message board on the pro worlds thread and you'll see LOTS OF PEOPLE talking about this very issue that are here at highbridge hills...scorers, the td, people that have been here in the past....LOTS OF PEOPLE!!!

i called greg at 11 pm last evening with a phone card from the hotel after hearing from my wife that greg had said that people were complaining...

i am hogging the computer now just to make YOU happy, and so that you can make plans if you wish....as there is still 1 person ahead of you....

you DO NOT need to be IN the tournament to play friday's doubles, so you can do that if you wish......

when we meet, please bring your laptop, i'll take out the battery and then ask you to make a post for me .....let's see how well your skills work then

thanks to everyone not named phil for their understanding, and i look forward to making the rest of you happy next saturday!!!

update!

more wasps

Postby The Artist » Sat Aug 04, 2007 3:42 pm

Et and I were practicing the pool 2 format on Friday afternoon. We found more wasps in one of the wooden benches. Hole #12 the boyscout bench has some wasps nests underneath so watch out for that. If someone can contact the parks and rec they should take care of it for us.

Enjoy the woods holes while you can because some idiots have been smoking illegal stuff and leaving behind beer cans and the park is tired of the shanigans! The park is forcing Jason to pull all nine holes in the woods for 2 months. They were going to be pulled before FCO2 but Jason and Terry had to pursuade them to let us have them for the tournament. If you can please call Matt Pate (at the Park and Rec dept) and try to talk some sense into him so that these few people do not ruin it for the rest of us. Jason has told us repeatedly that this type of activity was not allowed and now the park is enforcing punishment. If this continues we will lose all 27 holes!!  This is not a joke, this was told to us in the players meeting before doubles today. Alot of blood, sweat and tears has gone into this beautiful course and if you enjoy it as much as the rest of us than call the Park and Rec dept and let them know.

 Unbelievable. Guess I'll be carrying a trash bag henceforth to clean up after the shulemongers that leave their refuse behind.

A written petition to the Rec and Parks department probably wouldn't hurt either. If we all sign something this weekend stating our intent to 1) help keep the place picked up and 2) discourage the handful of idiots that can't leave their schwag and skunkass beer at home, they may be convinced that there are more of us who care than don't.

Either way, if anyone on my card this weekend discards so much as a cigarette butt in an improper place, they will take a seven on the hole and a chainstar up the shule hole!! :o

first of all congrats on winning state coordinator......as i said when you first announced..if i had known you wanted the job i would have not run....

i'm just glad i got 1 more vote than "can of beer at redan" did

my tournaments for all 12 years i have been a td(since 1996) have always been the same..players packs to all, 100% of all ladies will cash/merch and 50% of the field in all other divisions will cash/merch....i have always believed in taking care of the players that support my events....long before the pdga "wished or semi-mandated it"....for different tiers....it is why even though the event has been a c-tier for 2 years and does not require players packages for ANYONE....i payout over b-tier requirements and provide lunch for free...(no pb&j by the way, sorry if you were looking for that  )

lunch will be veggie, cheese, and different meat topped pizza's

congrats again and see you sat morning!

wait list will now be in order of people who called me and left messages while i was at worlds....they are in order of called in to my voicemail as i had no cell service from july 29th at 10 pm until august 5th at 10:45 pm when i got back into duluth, minnesota on the way back to the minneapolis airport

phil chapin decided my response was "unprofessional"(i'm guessing by his posts and tone in his posts that his were professional)..so sorry i fell short of his expectations....but good news for the rest of you.....i have money from no one on the list i'll be posting....AND DO NOT SEND ME ANY MONEY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so if you think any of the 81 players on the confirmed/paid list when i update it later tonight might not make it ...then please show up on saturday morning(with cash only) and at 9:16 am i will take people from the wait list in order (keeping pools even with 3 somes first as i posted before i went to worlds)

if you see anything wrong, PLEASE let me know so i can adjust the cards....
they are already printed and ready to go in the scoreboard

pool 2 advanced masters men(by vote), advanced women, intermediate

we have 47 pool 1 players(all pro men and advanced) and 34 pool 2 players

does anyone in pool 2 want to move into adv from advanced masters

Keith - I really do not want to move - you could ask the 2 Pro Grandmasters to play the B pool and your numbers will still work. I cannot imagine that they would object - I know Outler wouldn't (he was bemoaning what a long day it was going to be two Sundays ago). 54 holes of the pool A is a loooong day as it is supposed to be hot as Hades...

Just a thought - see you Saturday

nobody HAS to move...i just threw that out there to see if anyone WISHED to move....

if the pro gm's want to play pool 2 that is very much ok....

last year when i tried to have them play pool 2 john complained that he wanted to play the longer layout...now you say he's complaining ABOUT playing the longer layout  .......

it is strictly their choice and if they decide sometime between now and saturday morning which layout they would like to play, i would like to know

I got's me a new air horn

Postby Vern » Thu Aug 09, 2007 2:05 pm

I can't play on Saturday but I want to come by and spectate. Does anyone know if you can be banned from the PDGA for heckling at an event if you are not actually a contestant? Any help would be appreciated.
The Hula Hoop became so ubiquitous that the former Soviet Union banned the toy as a symbol of the "emptiness of American culture."

Related question: does throwing a disc at a heckler count as a practice throw? Even if you hit 'em?

I think I just picked which group I am going to follow...

5 Things to take to Central Park when not participating in a tourney:

1. Air Horn
2. Dog that you can let off a leash
3. A little league basball team that can warm up on Hole#18
4. A Beer

and last but not least

5. The slowest child on a bicycle ever !

8. let's not forget folding chairs for spectators, ropes, harnesses, and a butt-load of children to climb the big oak on 15
9. Thumb tacks to make Officer Fife's bicycling more interesting
10. A boom box with all your Lynard Skynard, Molly Hatchet, and Georgia Satellite's cassettes

Thanks Keith! The tournament was awesome!

I will set my pride aside and say "good job bootsie" but that doesn't make up for the fact that you don't like newbies when we "all" used to be one! Congrats to all the players that finished the tournament! It was a really hot day!

Excellent job Keith and Lorelei. Thanks for everything.

What a grueling day!
Am I glad I played Masters, or what?
Everyone that finished should be proud, especially if you're name is Bootsie!

My score should be 80-84, not 84-80.
That should change the ratings a bit.

fco 2 recap and thoughts

Postby keith johnson » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:37 pm

results fixed for plotky and blackwell.....

thanks to all the sponsors for helping to make this 1 day c-tier a better paying event than the 2 day b-tiers in the state!

without everyone's disc buying and tee sign support it would not have been possible...the free lunch and 300 bottles of water, the every 10 drawings, all were possible because of YOUR and others around the country sponsorships..... :D

thanks to terry lynch for his help in distributing some of the eight 5 gallon water jugs on the course!!!

thanks to wes campbell for his payout skills and i hope his back recovers to play again soon

congrats to brett rousseau for the only ace picking up 50 bucks...acing the gym hole(which i saw during the 2nd round was about 30 ft shorter than last year)....

congrats to all the winners and everyone who finished both rounds......

congrats to the 7 every 10 entry winners who took home almost $400 in
merchandise just for signing up to play in the tournament....(thanks to jay voss for printing the list out for me after i left mine on the dresser at home!)

congrats to wes campbell, who thanked lorelei for having someone named campbell(either wes or greg) win a drawing she's made for 5 of the 6 times she's drawn tickets at events in georgia

only 6 people dropped out total and everyone finished at least 20 holes the first round in 100 degree temps..... 8)

for the second year in a row, the event was held on one of only about 4 days a year with ZERO wind....making the heat even worse.....

for those of you hoping for an fco 3......you need to make your calls to the parks office to help do what you can to get the woods holes reinstated....those holes help define the tournament layout and without them, i will not run an event there, as the 18 holes (although they have some diffficulty if set properly), will not make for a challenging layout on their own as evidenced by the way they got torn up at the atlanta open.....

if there is an fco 3........the first 25 entries i receive had better all be open players....and i'll say right now that if we hit 30 open players i'll make first place a GUARANTEED $1500 first place payout!!!!

so lets get the woods holes back and get 29 of your friends to sign up when the flyer comes out and lets see who doesn't believe in '08

i kept my word......so HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT IN '08!!!!!!!!!!!

Props to everyone who ran this tournament. Very well done. And props to all the players that were there, especially the Masters. You guys played great golf. My body and my focus just wouldn't hold up in those conditions, and I took a nice humble a$$ whoopin from the course, the heat, and most of the field. Congrats to my fellow old men. - Shu

it was just myself , my wife dawn and daughter lorelei, (with scoring help from chris van dijk, wes campbell, and brett porter)

my family appreciates your thanks mel....looking at my score you can see why i play masters most times......at least that way i'm only loosing to the winner by 5-10 strokes instead of 20-25

CHECK!

Thanks for all your hardwork and continued support Jason. Although I wasn't there, it's difficult to beleive that Jason and Terry didn't have something to do with the success of the tourney. Just not possible. Refuse to beleive it.

That Jason... probably a guy who doesn't need PROPS. What a guy!

Good call Mr. Disc.

Refuse to beleive it. why?, because you have NO CLUE on what it takes to run an event without LOTS of help, or even how to get sponsorship stuff straight for some of your higher dollar sponsors?

IT IS POSSIBLE and you can BELIEVE IT!!!
it's really not that hard to do if you have half a brain...especially a 1 day event at 1 course.....i'll bet you you could do the same thing at lost in the woods in 2 months, since you have a parks dept helping you with the course also(remember the course DOES NOT run the event so you'll have to do SOME THINGS YOURSELF)....you have 2 months to raise the cash and pull it all together...i'll even be a hole sponsor of #6(that's 6  , not 9 or no sign like the atlanta open  ) for 50 bucks....
the offer is on the table.....are you going to keep whining about something you have no knowledge of, or are you gonna gather all your pals and make the event great!

the discs are in your court!

for the 2 people that weren't there but are so sure of themselves, because they are such great td's in their own right  , maybe ask some of the people that WERE there, or better yet, ASK JASON himself what i said about him in front of ALL THE PLAYERS at the players meeting and again at the awards ceremony, as well as what i said to him personally when i was there on friday getting the course set before doubles.......JASON KNOWS HOW I FEEL ABOUT HIM and his work....

jason does a TREMENDOUS job (along with terry) on keeping the COURSE top notch......the COURSE does not run the event, jason DID NOT have anything to do with running the event(short of his normal job of prepping the course for tournament play).....

jason did speak from his heart to all the players about his thoughts and feelings about losing the woods holes and what he wished the players would do to get the holes back for ALL DISC GOLFERS, as soon as possible......

here now for any other dumbasses that weren't there......

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING JASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee you sure a touchy fellow :D ,
Way to make it personal Pal  .
I say something good about one of the hardest working Guys in the North Georgia region thats has helped grow the sport.
it was in response to another praise, cause it does not get said enough.
If you have issues with that then maybe you are the dome ass.
Clap clap clap Great job Keith.

In addition,, I had to work on Saturday or I just might had made it out. To Central Park.

By the way, I never did get an answer on what comes in the adv master players pack.
That is all I really wanted to know. Custom stamp disc or innova pencil holder, just be specific please, I really was not looking for I am Keith almighty speech on how you ran worlds and been too 54 other states and how you did it there or that you been doing it for 25years. ?Big deal toot your horn a little louder if it makes you happy.

(short of his normal job of prepping the course for tournament play)

please god tell me that he didnt say that.

It did seem that Keith was getting grief for not acknowledging Jason. I could see where he might get a little defensive. Keith, along with everyone else, respects and appreciates Jason's hard work.

The players pack was a high end disc (of choice), a mini, and a sticker.

chuck, you got the answer from me on players packages when you asked several weeks ago.

it's not my fault you chose to ignore what i said, just like you ignored what i wrote earlier, by quoting the line that YES my god, i did say........

other than prepping the course what did YOU WANT JASON TO DO to run the event that he wasn't running.....you just make no freaking sense....

i know you like to stir up crap and i tend you usually ignore you, but when you ask the same stupid things over and over again, to me and others, it really gets irritating...sort of how you get irritated when i mention how long and what events i've run........

part of that is because of people in the area NOT KNOWING if i'm another chuck smith, just out for myself or if i can do what i say i can do.....

i have shown with both events here that i will take care of ther PLAYERS(something you claim to do but only if they are ams, or it benifeirts your pockets) where i do it for the PLAYERS that play the event ALL OF THEM, AM OR PRO, women or men, old or just starting.......

its why i donate money to the jim warner fund(not take advantage of the name(i never even met the guy and he died 4 days after i moved here)because i saw how other golfers FELT about him....it is why i continue to donate money EVERY week for the jim warner fund, when playing at wills....last year i personally donated over 500 dolars in cash and at least 100 or so in merchandise to the fund.....i bet you didn't even come close to that with your "so called fund raisers"

it's not to toot my own horn.......it's to show dumbasses that even though i play like asss, that i care about the people who play this sport and want to make it better......

if you don't want to be a part of that,it doesn't bother me, if you want to make a living off disc golf that doesn't bother me either...i just choose to SPEND money on disc golf to make other people happy, and there's nothing wrong with that either........

so chuck...if you actually READ anything i have written, including from the beginning of this thread....you will conclude that ALL of your questions have been answered (as they were when you asked them last year, which you obviously forgot) and you are free to ask new ones, cuz i'm done answering your old tired questions(or the ones imran is feeding you  )

by the way chuck, even though i've never met you also, my knowing there is good in what you are doing for disc golf in your area in your way is why i also defend you and your rights to say what you want on the message boards (within the message board rules) at pretty much every board meeting, because i DESPISE censorship very much and as i feel we are all adults and can act grown up in person.....but have fun and go "wild here on the board",because like most disc golfers we are totally different in person than we are on the boards....and most of us just like watching the train wrecks that happen here....(i'm sure lots of people are laughing at our back and forth right now)

anyways that's all for tonight

What does all this kah kah have to do with props to Jason, and all his hard work?

Before Jason worked for the park he had worked over 3000 volunteer hours on that course plus supplied it with his own baskets.
So, get a clue Keith.

chuck, you got the answer from me on players packages when you asked several weeks ago.

it's not my fault you chose to ignore what i said, just like you ignored what i wrote earlier, by quoting the line that YES my god, i did say........

other than prepping the course what did YOU WANT JASON TO DO to run the event that he wasn't running.....you just make no freaking sense....
I only gave Jasons name props,

i know you like to stir up crap and i tend you usually ignore you, but when you ask the same stupid things over and over again, to me and others, it really gets irritating...sort of how you get irritated when i mention how long and what events i've run........ People on this site have always suggested to ask specific ? thats all i did, Whats wrong with that. I just wanted to be informed.

part of that is because of people in the area NOT KNOWING if i'm another chuck smith, just out for myself or if i can do what i say i can do.....
I doubt you could live up to that name. I also doubt that you can get 4 courses in the ground in under Two years by yourself.

i have shown with both events here that i will take care of ther PLAYERS(something you claim to do but only if they are ams, or it benifeirts your pockets) where i do it for the PLAYERS that play the event ALL OF THEM, AM OR PRO, women or men, old or just starting.......
I just do not give a dam abought pro payout, thats what the pdga is for using am money to pay pros, my passion is getting people involved in playing disc golf

its why i donate money to the jim warner fund(not take advantage of the name(i never even met the guy and he died 4 days after i moved here)because i saw how other golfers FELT about him....it is why i continue to donate money EVERY week for the jim warner fund, when playing at wills....last year i personally donated over 500 dolars in cash and at least 100 or so in merchandise to the fund.....i bet you didn't even come close to that with your "so called fund raisers"

Your right keith i dont come close to your $500 I only helped raies $1200 in 2006
I tried to raise more money for the cause this year but our pal woody had to speak out against it.
not take advantage of the name What a cheap shot.

it's not to toot my own horn.......it's to show dumbasses that even though i play like asss, that i care about the people who play this sport and want to make it better......

if you don't want to be a part of that,it doesn't bother me, if you want to make a living off disc golf that doesn't bother me either...i just choose to SPEND money on disc golf to make other people happy, and there's nothing wrong with that either........

? What do you do for a living Kieth :?:
Ill bet its not busting you but getting new courses in the ground and doing all the hard ground work that it takes to build a new course, na you only host events were someone else has done the hard work

so chuck...if you actually READ anything i have written, including from the beginning of this thread....you will conclude that ALL of your questions have been answered (as they were when you asked them last year, which you obviously forgot) and you are free to ask new ones, cuz i'm done answering your old tired questions(or the ones imran is feeding you )

And keith the events that I have run avg over 177% pay out to the ams.

Also i did not come in here to stir up crap, You did that yourself pal.

Bottom line Mr.pres You play with the bull you might get the horns!

HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THE TAKING CREDIT FOR 2 COURSES HE HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH. THIS REALLY BOTHERS ME BECAUSE I KNOW MANY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY DID PUT IN MANY VOLUNTEER HOURS AT SANDY CREEK PARK. CHUCK HAS NEVER EVEN BEEN PRESENT DURING ANY OF THE WORK DAYS BEGINNING FROM DAY 1 YET HE CLAIMS TO HAVE DONE THE COURSE "ALL BY HIMSELF". WHY DONT YOU JUST TELL EVERYBODY THE TRUTH CHUCK. YOU CAME UP WITH A JOKE OF A COURSE LAYOUT FOR THE PARK. YOU HAD 18 HOLES CRAMMED INTO A REALLY SMALL AREA. THE PARK FOUND YOUR DESIGN TO BE LAUGHABLE AND DECIDED TO GO WITH A MORE PROFESSIONAL DESIGN. YOU NEVER SHOWED YOUR FACE THERE AGAIN. YOU NEVER LIFTED ONE FINGER IN THE CREATION OF SANDY CREEK DISC GOLF COURSE. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AT HERMAN C. MICHAEL DISC GOLF COURSE. ANOTHER SHULEY DESIGN BY MR-DISC DENIED![/b]

You guys must be reading something different here.
Imran gave props to Jason and then chuck fallowed with a big fat check and then Keith turned anal on the both of them :? .

Sorry Keith if Jason would have not stepped in and got permission to use the woods for your tournament it would have been a no go.
Maybe Jason did play a part in it.

for the rest of the crap I know that chuck had a huge impact on getting the course in at sandy creek.
And the fact that he only promotes to am players is a good thing.
I also have seen all the effort that he has put in at victor lord and hurricane shoals; I wish that some others would come forward and speak up on his behalf

Postby Mike D » Wed Aug 15, 2007 8:12 pm

Can't we all just get along!! LOL

Numbers speak for themselves.

Most of the tournaments in Georgia sell out early.... All except those run by Chuck.

People know to stay away from his tournaments. He has a handful of people who play his tournaments and thats it.

Those of us who play alot and travel do not play Chucks tournaments.

Let Chuck and his buddies have their little fun, the rest of us will play in the "real" sanctioned tournaments.

nolowputts.... hmmmmm, Chuck is that you??

i've never played any of Chuck's tourney's but i heard they're the worst run events to be involved with, and most of the bad stuff i've heard has come from barney players, if you can't keep the noobs happy, no wonder no one else wants to play at Shule city...btw..i played C Michael Herman, and that place is utter bullcrap, by far the worst disc golf course i've stepped foot on in the state

I've played Herman C Michael also. I found it to be quite fun and somewhat challenging. The woods holes are tight and tough, the open holes are short and fun. I don't believe that Chuck had anything to do with this course, just my opinion.
As far as Chucks tournaments go, they seem pretty smooth. He's burned a lot of bridges and pissed off most of the serious tournament players in Georgia. Thats why they don't fill up. His last tournament at Hurricane Shule had 4-5 people in advanced and John Ritger left there with a basket for winning.
He supports Am's because he knows they are the future of the sport. No offense to Keith or my Pro friends but he had to beg enough Pros to play so the payout would be better. Historically the am side fills up a lot faster.
I don't support Chuck or the way he goes about doing things. You can tell what courses he has a hand in and which ones he doesn't. Personally I don't think he had anything to do with Sandy Creek. That course was professionally installed by people that know disc golf. No shule baskets, no baskets in the shule, no tee signs stapled to used plywood, no ankle breaking teepads.
New courses are great. Wasting time, land, and pocketing resources isn't. We will never see eye to eye on this subject. Professionally ran PDGA sanctioned tournaments will continue to thrive. Chuck installing a course a week will continue to happen. I say let him shoot himself in the foot.

P.S. If you're all about the am's in Georgia, then why not run a PDGA sanctioned all am tournament. The Georgia Amateur Open? Chris Jaskolka has one every year in Huntsville. It always fills up and he has the best payout I've seen. He and Keith are fighting for the title.
Maybe it's to much for you to handle.

sorry jay you are a little off with that statement......begging pro's to play DOES NOT make the payout better....it makes it better for the PRO PLAYERS....the added money was the same whether there was 9 like last year or 22 like this year....i said over and over it was up to the pros to get the # they needed to get the 1000 dollars first place CASH, they didn't and still had a hell of a payday anyways....

by the way....the ams had a 195% PAYBACK also, which goes against your(jay) and chucks theory that i don't care about ams......that's why i also ran am worlds....cuz i HATE ams.... (sorry chuck hates when i bring up other events i've run)
maybe the 2 of you,(and imran) can meet over at one of chucks 4 courses and play a round of golf while LEARNING TO READ what people write.......including reading what is written from the BEGINNING of threads, not just the last post like most of the(here comes THAT word again) dumbasses do....then some of these replies wouldn't even be necessary....like chuck asking 34 times what was in the players package...

the ams filled up the field as fast as they wanted to which is why i don't cap #'s in divisions or hold X number of pro spots for my events....81 total....i don't care if it's ALL AMS....
wes is the only one who loses money (as payout guy) for every pro that plays, i give players packages to everyone so that cost the same whether it's 81 ams ,81 pros or a mix.....

here you go chuck.......you want to know what players got, you gotta ask them because i handed them a bag that had 1 of the following discs in it....i don't know what the adv masters got...the 9 of them might have gotten 9 different discs, the packages weren't separated by divisions.....just 81 packages in a box that was handed out 1 by 1 as they checked in.....
you have any other stupid questions i can answer for you?
i'll be right here waiting as i live to serve my adoring fans

12 different discs chuck....1st run star cro, tourney stamped star skeeter, champion wraith, (150 pro valks for the ladies)colormax cryztal buzzz, esp buzzz, esp flx buzzz, esp flx challenger, elite x avenger, z xl,inncolor star orc, inncolor star firebirds....

Maybe your hyper sensitive ass should read a little too. I never said a word about the am payout, nor did I say thar YOU don't like ams. My point was that ams make the events. As a matter of fact if you read my P.S. I stated that you and Chris J have the best payouts I've ever seen.
Get one thing straight, I'm not Imran or Chuck. I won't sit by and listen to you changing my words around. Everyone here know's my strong dislike for Chuck. So maybe next time you should take some of your own medicine and read before you talk. I know it's hard when you get so amped up you can't see straight.
My bash was towards Chuck. Simply stating that if HE loves ams so much then HE should run an all am sanctioned tournament. So in the future why don't YOU get YOUR S-H-I-T straight before YOU start running YOUR mouth.

Man if I would have known that I would have been digging through that box like a hungry refugee. I must say that Keith put on a top notch event, it was far better than any one day tournament I have ever played in. the payout was the best I have seen for a C or B tier. I can't beleive that more Pros didnt show up, oh wait we are in GA yes I can.

Unless you are contributing to the betterment of the tournament or complementing Keith's hard work as the TD go back to doing whatever it is that you are so proud of. Why does things always have to turn into a bad episode of WWE? With that said, Chuck you do great things, but self promotion has a negative affect on your positive efforts. Keep up the good work and know that you are making a difference instead of having to know that everyone knows. I have played in some of your events and enjoyed doing so. I can't figure out why you are so pissed off at Pros. The last Hurricane tournament seemed to go well, where did all of your anger come from?

Great work Keith teach me your ways

thanks to harold duvall for having the confidence in me to help support the beginning of the growth of disc golf in miami

thanks to the players who have played in my events as i get to live vicariously through your being there!

thanks for making me realize on a daily basis that this area will ALWAYS be fractured in little kingdoms, and that no matter how i wish things could be more unified, the more they will be separated, as the area is just too caught up in history that this outsider will never be a part of or able to understand.....and my arrogant attitude thinking that things could be better one day, is even by my own actions, is proof that it NEVER will be....

thanks for reading this far if you have, and thanks to everyone else who i left off that deserves it....

finally...thanks to barry for making me answer chuck's questions all over again because i can't go back and quote his questions from last year  but having a new board at least working so i can make the post you are reading now

this is one of the most honest and true statements about disc golf in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. I wish it could be different. Guess we gotta just keep on trying.
