Just curious, but is there going to be any added money in the purses? Don't know how much incentive it is to someone to pay 50 bucks to only win 170 for first and having to beat out 14 other players. Also, not really sure if the entry was the same last year, so i could be talking with my foot in my mouth which i'm notorious for.

In my opinion, walking away with more than 3 times the amount of money you walked in with is a pretty good return on the investment.

We are looking into sponsorship discs but we could be under a time crunch. Not sure how it will work out, but we are looking into it.

Since this is a C-Tier, we are not aggressively seeking sponsorships to help boost the payout. This tournament will be moreso based on fun and comraderie rather than high payout. Having said that, ERP tournaments are known for their great payouts.

The Am payout system is going to be KAAWAAAA this year!

Each player that cashes in an Amateur division will receive a Gift Cert/Voucher from Solstice with their prize value hand-written on it. This voucher will also have a computer generated code with the option to use it online, for store credit at the Solstice Online ProShop. Solstice will keep track of all of the vouchers they issue, noting which players choose to redeem their Payout in person at the event and which players do not. The ones who do not will have their codes activated by us as soon as the event is over.

This will give the players unheard of flexibility with their payout options. They may partially redeem their voucher at the event and then redeem the balance online. The may choose to redeem it entirely at the event or entirely at home...whatever they want/whenever they want. This also gives the player a wide variety of items to spend their payout on; not only discs, but clothing and other accessories, bags, targets, even online entry into another event!!!...anything that is in the ProShop is fair game!

There are only 36 hole sponsorships available. Since there are only 18 holes, we will have two sponsorships per hole (your choice of tee-pad [black, blue, red]). Sponsorships are available for $25 each.

Sponsor Package includes the following:

No, doubles is NOT mandatory, just a good way to check the course out before the event and practice. Also a way to get your players pack a day early.

ATTENTION!

New format for the pros after the 1st & 2nd round are complete. Instead of a final 5, 9 hole playoff; there will be a 5 hole - $50/skin playoff for the top 4 Pro Open players. That's right $250 extra cash in skins for whoever can take it.

Holes 1,3,4,6 & 7 will be played. This should be great to watch.

About the 5 hole skins that Andrew posted - I don't think we are going to have enough time to play an extra 9 holes. However, I thought it would be a perfect tournament to showcase what the pros can do since we have a large amateur field and a lot of new players. It's rare that they get to see the pros play. After speaking with a few pros that are playing, it was determined that a skins match would be a good alternative. Therefore, we have decided to do a 5 hole skins match, but it will not count towards the round scores. It will be separate as an added bonus to the top 4 pros.

The five holes that Andrew listed will be played from the blacks. If there are any carrying skins after the 5 holes, we will play consecutive holes after 7. Meaning hole 8, 9, 10, 11, and so on, until someone wins those remaining skins.

I agree... should be great to watch!

Also, wanted to announce that Starbucks is a new sponsor of Lost In The Woods. We will have free Starbucks coffee for all players at the tourney. We will also have Starbucks coupons to be given out in the players packs. May have enough for all players. We'll have to see.

I just read the post about the skins match, it is a great idea. i do agree that since there is a large am turnout that it would be nice "treat". but i would say the top pros should play the following holes really showcasing how the course can be played and allowing for less walking and more room for spectators.

i think that configuration has the potential to demonstrate how the top players play the more difficult holes as well as push the competitors to really go for risky shots. and ending on 13 with a potential ace, what could go wrong??

Had an equipment malfunction that kept a bunch of the shots I took from turning out -- the piece of equipment that failed was my brain, which failed to register a problem with the camera settings for a huge part of the trophy distribution. Many are too dark to see anything. Will see if I can salvage any of them later when I have time to do some Photoshop voodoo.

BTW, did anyone notice that one of the five below-par performances was by Tom Greer in the juniors division? Three-under 109 ain't too shabby, even from the reds. Was in the same group with him for all 36, and can tell you it was no fluke -- very mature game for someone not old enough to drive yet. He's gonna give you guys in advanced a run for your money soon if he stays with it.

the only scoring issue i saw was the payouts were'nt showing the ties
(dollar,mel) and me & brett

the dollar amounts just need to be adjusted for the ties on the am side also....



woody was already getting beat down before his injury, and then without woody pushing me, i folded like a wet paper sack(7 over in the last 6 holes), kurt stayed steady, and jessie got hot enough to get 5 strokes back
it was eerily quiet after woody left, and i have to say i missed his prescence in the group - so essentially i'm blaming woody for my collapse - but thankfully others were tanking also, so i still cashed!
