As State Coordinator, I would like to start getting feedback as to which dates people would like to use for SANCTIONED EVENTS in 2010.

As always Majors, NT's and A-tiers dates are set first by the PDGA and then the rest of the schedule fills in.

I will also coordinate again with South Carolina, NC and TN to try to not overlap where possible.

The Calendar will be updated HERE ONLY in this post, so please check it first before requesting dates.

The SGDGA would like to have a Spring and Fall event in 2010. Could you check these dates and let me know if they would conflict with any tourneys in GA?
Chehaw Spring Shootout - April 3rd-4th, 2010 - Albany, GA
2nd Annual Chehaw Fall Classic - October 23rd-24th, 2010 - Albany, GA

If these dates look good, please confirm so we can send in the sanctioning agreements to the PDGA.

The October date will not be known as ok until we see what date(s) the Flying Eye A-Tier uses in 2010 as their scheduling is "USUALLY" based on the UGA football schedule.

April date was used by both Jacksonville, FL and Augusta in '09 but with Tier sanctioning milage restrictions that would not preclude you using the same weekend.

I will put the April date on the request schedule.

Keith,

I'd like to reserve April 24th for the Stephens County Pro/Am. The sanctioning agreement will be sent in ASAP. The plan is for it to be a C-Tier. Let me know if there is anything else that you need. This will be my first TD adventure and I'm not sure about all of the specifics.

Yes sir it is. John has been struggling through some pretty bad back problems and I think he just wants to take a great deal of time off to make sure the pain doesn't come back again.

If you dont already know this Keith, due to TD burn out and sponsorship difficulties Flying Eye will not be an A-tier in 2010. We will probably be a B or maybe a C. The only available date is Oct 23-24.

Just as an update. I sent in the sanctioning agreement for the Stephens County Pro/Am. I was denied due to a conflict with the Carolina Clash NT. Karolyn is going to write the TD and see if we can still have that weekend. We are only 167 miles from Charlotte so it is well within traveling range. I will let you know when I have further information.

I imagine that alot of pros (including myself) will be in Carolina intead, but you should have no issues keeping that weekend as an AM Only Event if you want to, as the NT doesn't have AM Spots.

I was granted a waiver. The Stephens County PRO/Am will be on for April 24th. It will be added to the PDGA schedule tomorrow and online registration will be available.

Looking like this will have to be moved to July 31-Aug 1. The SC Doubles Championship is the same day as was previously scheduled. As a favor I told the TD that I would explore other options for this tournament.

I need to lock down a date for the 2nd Annual Chehaw Fall Classic in Albany, GA. We are looking at a couple of dates...10/16-10/17 or 10/30-10/31. I would prefer the 10/16-17 dates if possible. This will be a two day C-Tier event. Please let me know if this date will work so I can begin preparations.

10/16-17 weekend is the same as Women's only IDGC Event
10/30-31 weekend is the same as the long running Fright Flight doubles run by Rand.

Either weekend will allow your Event as a C-tier as Albany falls outside the milage restrictions from the PDGA.

Let me know when you get the sanctioning and I'll post it on the calendar page,

Keith - I talked to Mike about the tourney in Albany and wants to reserve Oct 16-17. Two day C-Tier that might be at two different parks.

On another note I want to reserve Oct 2nd for a yet to be named McCurry event.

When the info is ready and sanctioning agreement has been done with PDGA - I will list the info -right now I'll just put dates in.

It's too bad crucible is out of the mix, maybe for good, but they do have a really good course in Sandy Creek Park. How come no one runs events there?

I believe an empty keg was left there... maybe a td had somthing to do with it... not the creator.

Actually, the keg was full and being iced down. Stupid move obviously. As park management has changed, so has the unique opportunity for us dger's to use it. Basically, the fiscal burden is now being placed on us. I am trying to find out just how much this will cost and how to make it work. We have a small community of golfers here in town and for the past handful of years several of us have invested a great deal of time in preparing the course and a break is welcome. Do not for any reason think The Crucible is gone, give us some time to figure out how to make it work and hopefully we will find a solution and welcome everyone back to a place that is special to us all.

Apologies Keith for the derailment of the thread, but since 2010 is about over I don't think there will be too many requests for tourneys.
