Thats right folks! The discs are super sweet Buzzz ESPs and most of them are sold, so contact me if you want one. (susantinch@hotmail.com or 706-769-2384) There may or may not be any left for sale at the tournament.

I want to remind you that the cost for registration goes up by $10 the week of the tournament, so please sign up early.

If anyone has a friend or family member who might want to tag along and volunteer to help out on the day(s) of the tournament, they can contact me through the same contact information and I will find a perfect job for them.

Remember that its only $20 for Am women, and thus far we only have one signed up, so the odds are in the ladys favor of winning something good. Tell your girl friends.

There are 35 spots left in the tournament.

Remember there is a late fee if you wait until the week before.

There are 2 small tweaks to the course this year, on hole 15 (the one that crosses the creek a couple times) the tee moved to the left to take the un-natural-ness out of the drive angle and the basket moved back and left about 40 feet, it's now sitting on very cool corner of the creek. I think the hole will play much better than in the past.

Hole 16 (the short anhyzer in the woods) is also changing, the basket stays the same but the tee moves left about 30 feet to straighten out the hole. It's an easier angle to throw but still a lefty hole.

For those of you who haven't seen the website, the players meeting is at 9am sharp. The course is looking great. I haven't seen the latest registration, and I know the pdga list isn't updated yet, but I know there are less than 20 spots left.

When was the last tournament held at the Crucible? I remember playing sometime earlier this year, I think, but I couldnt find the results on the PDGA site. Was it sanctioned?

Yes, in January we did 2, 1 day unsanctioned tournaments... doubles on Saturday and odd dog singles in the rain on Sunday.

We will do the same this year in December and in February.

Will the course be playable on Wednesday? If so do you need permission to play? Also can you re-post directions to the course. If that is already available I apologize for my lack of attention to details.

Yes, the course is playable. We need to have an Athens disc golf volunteer out there to play. You CAN NOT park on the side of the road and hop the fence. You will be towed. DO NOT DO IT.

That said, I've asked to see whether we will have people out there Wed/Thurs afternoons (we definitely will on Friday) and will post here when I find out.

We will have people out there on Wednesday afternoon (I don't know when "Afternoon" is, it now occurs to me that I should ask) so you guys can come out and play. I will most likely be out there early-ish (like 11 or 12), which means we'd have everything from noon until dark covered, so feel free to come out Wed.

Last year somebody organized it and it ran well. Remember that if you do doubles and play all 18 you probably need to start by 3pm.

if there are any locals that have not played the crucible before, i strongly suggest a singles practice round before tourney time.

at par 69, you will have distance issues on many holes, and perfect shot execution and placement on every hole. and just for fun, 17 of the holes are blind tee shots! many times, your upshots will be blind.

after the round, consider Doug Porter's and Brad Hammock's score of 60.

this is a model for the first pay-to-play course in GA that would make money. amazing place!

It was actually a 64 but who's counting. Seriously doubt I can do that in a tourney round. I was happy with only one bogey (cut through par putt) and no OB strokes.

2 Meter was more my concern. Last year I had five of them. Which I guess isn't "OB" but it's extra strokes none the less. I like the new layout on hole 15 BTW. It plays a good bit tougher IMO. Very happy with a 4 there.

light blue beat 175g star sidewinder, a go-to of course, on hole 14.

i threw my 2nd shot too high, wouldn't hold the turnover, and hyzered out short of the landing zone headed deep into the shule towards the lake.

if anyone is as unfortunate, and just happens to spot and retrive it, i'll
reward the return. owner info on disc.

water is down, but not enough to see anything from the edges still....

GEORGIA'S TEAM was 1,2 and tied for 4th(2 out of 1st) after round 1.... not counting team founder who was also tied for 4th(masters moved to open for 2nd week in a row)...24 total open players

after round 2 they are 2, 3, and 7th with founder in 6th(4 behind 3rd as phil shot a smoking 41 to be in 1st by 3 over jonathan and 8 over dollar with 1 round to go sunday....

Great tournament. Perfect weather. Fried green tomato biscuits are the
s h i t that killed Elvis (that's good). Thanks to the staff for all of their hard work and congrats to all the winners. Especially Phil for shooting that ridiculous 59.

great course, great weather, great people.....thanks to susan for stepping up to host everyone....and for pushing everybody to fill out their trivia forms....(who won by the way....couldn't be that many that got all of them right) as doug came up with a pretty good one this year

another 3 golfers in georgia can now thank me for my brilliant disc golf skills as for the 5th tournament in georgia, i miss a 4 ft putt on the last hole that keeps me from last cash and splits it instead (4 ways this time)....i really hate my disc golf mental abilities and i will not play another event in georgia unless somebody smacks me upside the head before the round starts.....

i'm sure i'll have to set up a lottery system as there will be WAAAY more volunteers than needed for me to remain conscious if everyone that wanted to smack me volunteered


at least the next 2 weeks i get out of the area in virginia and vegas to play some great courses
