Course Info:
Current status as of 7/2/2012:
Course is fully playable from long tees with all holes having permanent baskets, signage, carpet teepads. Trails have been cut between holes and course is easily navigable. Vandalism has been repaired. We're in the process of having a tree professional clear all remaining dead trees and tree limbs from fairways. After these are cut, several changes will be implemented to improve and lengthen holes, mostly on the front 9: holes 1-3, 5, 7-10 will be affected. Please come out to a workday if you can make it, as I'm estimating another 1,000 hours of work volunteer work is needed to complete the installation, on top of ~1,000 hours YTD 2012. I can attribute 70% of those hours to 4 people ... we need help, still.
Items coming up on the workdays:
Tree cutting -- in process, should be mostly cut by 7/4/2012
Installing granite stairs. We were gifted ~5 tons of granite chunks by the city and will be installing stairs in steep areas
Installing short teepads
Clearing edges of fairways
Improving signage
Building information kiosk
Building benches from logs we've cut down
Building retaining walls from logs we've cut down
Building bag holes (from logs we've cut down)
The course is very playable already and is getting lots of play.
