HUGE Thanks to Lorelei, (THURS and FRI) Dan Moore and Chris Foley (TODAY) for their help on Mulch and rock spreading days.
The course is starting to shape up nicely - Hole 13 is no longer a mud bog, Tee pads on Holes 1, 5, and 9 tees have nice rock around them for cleanliness and drainage. The paths between 12-13 and 13-14 are mulched, there is a path from the practice basket to Tee #1 mulched as well as the fairways for #1,3, 9 and 13.
Tomorrow in the early AM I'll attack holes 8 and 17.
The park will be putting more mulch in other areas during the next week also.
As most of you know, I'm also a stats guy - here are some interesting stats for today at Wills.
117 individual players(throwing discs) and 129 total people passed by Hole 13 between 10AM and 4:30PM while it was being worked on 10-noon by Chris and myself, 12-2 by Dan(who also spread mulch solo on 3 and 9 before helping on 13) and myself, and then until 4:30 by myself.
26 of them were at Wills for the first time ever (including a couple from Colorado who read about it on DGCR),and over 50 were there for first time or first time in years.
32 of the players were WOMEN or girls.4 people passed by playing 2-3 times.
ALL of the people that had played in the past 2 weeks were amazed at how 13 looked now compared to when they saw it last, as well as the rest of the course.
Most everyone thanked all the people that have had anything to do with helping shape the park up.
I'm still looking forward to when I get to play my 2nd round there.
