Redan has been cut EVERY Friday so far this year. And they're cutting the whole course including hole 12 through 15! The down side is they've damage a few pin placements but we still got 54 we can use.

even thought it is in the wrong thread I'll comment on this one..... P-nut has a few extra base's for the baskets (at least he used to) Maybe we could set up a date to fix the broken ones? (this post belongs in a Redan thread)

I just thought if someone did not want to Mosley due to the tall grass they may want to drive 15 miles north and play Redan. That being said, I jinxed Redan and they did not mow the grass on Friday so now it's 2 to 3 inches tall instead the standard 1.5 inches.

Yes, we need to replace pin placements but I only provide my labor and tools on that action.

Hmmm 1 year later ...same situation...
I spoke with Kenny Morris( MORSE) today and he assured me that the grass was on the top of the 2do list.
Unexpected projects came up so things got delayed. He said that the mowers should be out MON. weather permitting,
So, it will probably be latethis week thur. or fri. or early .next .MON.

I will post when it is taken care of.

i do have to say when we played yesterday it was extremely hard to get through... ridiculous, in fact. glad to hear it's on the to do list but maybe it should be scheduled a little earlier next year so if things come up it still won't get out of hand. we really like the course but will not even go near it until we know for sure it's been taken care of. it's too far of a drive for us to be disappointed again. thanks to those of you that do keep it up. i know it's appreciated.

In reality it should be mowed every two weeks...The grass is not nearly what it used to be when the majority of it was saw grass but sadly after 2 days of rain and two weeks of sunshine the grass can easily be over 1ft tall.

Thanks to the guys that mow out at Moseley, the grass is freshly mowed up to hole #9 as of this afternoon and they will be back to finish tomorrow. Also a big "THANK YOU" to JPZ for spraying all the poison ivy and sumac. Fresh mulch was added to hole #1 and #15 as well. Looking good!

I second that! Its been two years since I've been to the mose and I went today for a couple of rounds. Nice work with all the benches and clearing. I still think a few of those woods holes in the beginning are not too legitimate. Funny angles with tight gaps make for some pinball action on the discs. Reminds me of the few invalid holes at Deerlick. We shot a 52 and a 49 playing dubs from the concrete tees. Anyone know a good score for a doubles round?

I heard that Kade from East Roswell shot a 49 & 52 from the cement pads a while back..

Those holes all have a valid route...you just need to be halfway up the fairway to see the gap. We've cut at least 7 - 10 trees from each hole, just a few years ago. I know holes 4 and 6 need a few removed, but Dandaman ain't having' it.

If Paul Mcbeth can reach 17 w/ a beat roc righty back hand and anyone with a sick righty flick(tokio) can reach it and any lefty w/ power can throw flat to fade or even hyzer the whole way, its looks as if there is plenty of options and validity with all the trees. Hammock can get almost there with a roc too its just that ONE tree in the middle of the fairway right after the bend that gets him/us. Its 9 and 16 that need attention but thats for another forum. Hole 6 at Moseley is a valid hole.

The fairway, at it's smallest point, is at least 16ft wide. There are a few dead trees (and 2 little ones still alive!) towards the end of the tunnel that need to go and a few just outside of the tunnel that will be removed.

Ditto that. Thrown that hole three times and even a couple of average turnover roc shots went up for birdie putts. This course is now a favorite of mine. Wish I wasn't so far away. Hole 4 is the one that has seriously questionable line in my opinion. Heard it used to be worse.

Yeah I was there. The angle is horrible and requires a luck shot to get to it. It would probably actually be easier for you to get there but for a right handed player is is going to be lucky. Ask Vach about it if you don't believe me because we were talking about it at the Pam B. Childs tournament.

The Mose' like any golf course is a continual working project. There are always things that can be done to improve the course. Of course feedback is always accepted, however action is what gets things done.

We'll have another formally announced work day soon (After the Monty singles and dubs). If you really want to see things improved than come give a helping hand. Improvements go much quicker when there's more than 2-4 people doing all the work.

I played JP Moseley yesterday and it is looking the best I have seen it in the dozen or so times I have played there. As an FYI, I spotted a 5 foot black racer climbing the second to last tree on the left before the basket on Hole #15.

Yep, it's legit. Just because a line isn't obvious doesn't mean it isn't there.

4 is just tough you dont play it right you could find yourself with a 6 or worse. Thats the beauty of it,take your time to examine the hole before throwing youll see the line its there. I have problems with it now and then but more often than not its an easy birdie .

Is really high in places on the course. Looks like the mowers hit one area & take a week off, then now another area. Very sporadic as a few places that they skip over are now waist high. Also: use bug spray for chiggers & ticks.
Football/Baseball fields looks really nice though.

Saw a few snakes & even a 6ft long snake skin, so be aware that they are out in force.

Perhaps if someone read the USDGC thread started APRIL 4th or in the Events thread the same day, or PDGAsignup they would have seen it - it would have gotten mowed in the last month.

I figured the Moseley faithful would be THRILLED to have a PDGA Sanctioned Event there and from what I have been reading in the threads it seemed like the mowing issue had gone away about 2 years ago - guess I was wrong.

Henley even "checked" in on APRIL 26th on the USDGC thread and then the 28th HERE on this thread and I responded to him the same day - that was 1 week ago.......

I guess no one reads the Moseley threads any longer - Ritger and "the P" faithful jumped all over it from day 1 -people that only post 1 or 2 times a years posted on the thread -SOMEBODY had to have known Moseley was part of it.

Sorry for not Pm'ing Every Mosely poster to make sure everyone knew -NEXT year - I'll get it right.

The worst part is now if it stays unmowed, Kevin McCoy will have to eat crow the next 2 SATURDAYS in a row about City maintained "paradise" courses.
