Great news! The Lenora Tag League can now be better described as the Gwinnett Tag League as we have been approved to use Alexander Park as well as Lenora!! It will be on Thursday nights starting the 2nd week in April and run for 8 weeks. All for only the low cost of $20. Part of your fee will benefit the GDGO same as last year. It will be a pure handicap league the first season. More info to follow.

You can sign up any time at any Gwinnett Co. Park Office or at the Gwinnett Life website. $20 for the 8 weeks. Juniors might not be able to sign up according to the county, (it was printed with 18and up tag last year), but I don"t see why a teen junior couldn't play.

Well I've got two boys (8 and 10) who would be good enough for the mens beginner group. They've been playing for a couple years. I may go by the park office to see if I can register them even though it says 18 and up. But I also don't want to do so if the group doesn't want players this young. I certainly wouldn't push for it if I didn't think they could keep up and do well. They are very familiar with both courses and play a couple times a week. Let me know your thoughts on pursuing it. By no means do i run this action, but i have played all but one week in 3 seasons. It is my opinion, if the county will let them in, we will let them play. It is a casual league that is for fun. With that said, i think anyone should be able to play, experienced, or otherwise.

It is a handicap league so their scores will be leveled out. If the county will allow it, I'd sign them up and enjoy!

UPDATE
Due to the county concerns about parking, the Gwinnet Tag League (GTL) is only at Lenora Park.
Sorry for the build up and let down, but there's lots of fun to be had at Lenora!! 13 people have signed up so far! There's still time to get in. The three ladies need at at least one more to make a fouresome! We also have two juniors. Sign up with your sons or daughters for some family golfing fun. I'll post Week 1 scores later tonight.

As soon as a player has 6 rounds recorded, a more personally accurate Handicap will emerge. Players such as Dana and Joe, have fewer recorded rounds so their HC's will alter more drastically than Mark S and Kari who played most of last year.

Great news ! The county has agreed to do two trial league dates at Alexander. April 28 and May 12 are the dates when the tag league will play the Alex. There is still time to sign up for the league and play both of Gwinnett's courses but don't get shut out. Sign up for week 2 at get to Lenora by 5:30 for all the fun Gwinnett has to offer!! (disc golf wise anyhow)

Someone asked why, since its a handicap league, are there seperate divisions (ladies and juniors, mens)? I have always figured out the Hcaps with the mens division as a par 54 and the ladies as a par 56. I grouped the juniors (new this year) with the ladies as par 56 as this seems to be a fair assessment of where their scores lie, statistically. If the Juniors want to play with the mens division I will move them and adjust their Hcaps accordingly.

For further clarification:
If you noticed some Hcaps dropped significantly while others had no or little change. Kari D and Dana K especially. Kari played 2 seasons last year plus her Lenora round from the Gwinnett Open. Dana played only 1 season and her round from the GO made her just eligible to have her own Hcap. Kari shot a 62 (-4 strokes off her Avg) and her Hcap dropped 1.1 strokes.
Dana shot a 63 (-5 strokes off her Avg) and her Hcap dropped 2.8 strokes. Because Dana has fewer rounds the difference between her previous Avg altered her Hcap more than Kari's. Hope that helps and NICE SHOOTING Dana and Kari!!

Also showing marked improvement from his 1 season last year is Joe J! His -6.1 Hcap dropped .9 and another even par(or better!) will adjust his Hcap significantly.

3- If you make contact with the player throwing.
Noonan Rules is a fun way to finish the season before the Match Play Finals the following week. Bring whistles, noisemakers, flashbulbs and any distraction you can think of.

We were rained out. Technically this Thursday June 2-nd should be our last night of this leagues season. We have an open week between when the summer league begins though. We could make June 9-th the ending day for our current league and begin the summer league on June 16-th as scheduled. That way we get a full 8 weeks in.
All in favor say aye.
Thursday's temperatures will be in the high 90's. I'll being a cooler of bottled water ice'd down for the group. Make sure to put on sun-block.
Thanks to all for great time this season. registration for the summer league is available now. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again this summer.
